Authentic Malaysian cuisine. They recently changed their menu so the main hawker dishes are only served at lunch, not dinner. For dinner there was still hainanese chicken rice, satay and sizzling plate beef yum! Get the RSL membership to get 10% off your meal.
Authentic Malaysian food! You know it is authentic when they can understand your need for cut chilly and sambal no additional charge for it Yummy and reasonably priced in a clean and pleasant environment in the Chatswood RSL club. The nasi lemak and chicken rice here is nice. For their chicken rice - theres a choice of either poached and roasted chicken, plus you can opt between chicken breast or leg. It is Served with mashed ginger paste and garlic chilly sauce just like how its done in Malaysia . Clean Toilets are an additional bonus :
After recommended by another friend to try this place, these are the dishes we ordered. Love their beef rendang! so tender and yet not over spicy. Hor Fun with the wok hei complex smoky, singed flavor on the rice noodle. The salt and pepper squid is yummy too! The price is reasonable not pricey. You will receive 10% discount if you are Chatswood RSL member. Hope this help and enjoy. :D
Curry chicken is good and the ice kacang is the best so far we had in Sydney. Tofu is ok but satay is so-so. The ginger rice ie chicken rice type is nice too. Overall, food is quite good. Will definitely go back to try other dishes.
Quality has gone downhill. It's still fine for a club restaurant, but no longer worth joining the club just to eat here. Service was never great but exacerbated by the relative poor quality. It's not even particularly good value.
In terms of food- large portions, pretty tasty, on the pricey side non-members pricing. In terms of service- slow & clumsy. They forgot one entree. Food took a long time to come out. In a group of 3, one person's main dish arrived 1/2h after the other two. Staff wrote down our order on their own paper so vaguely they had to come back 15 mins later to clarify whether it was meant to be soup or dry noodles.
Didn’t expect to get this huge portion. The roasted chicken was great! The only downside to my meal is the chicken was not properly cut. Perhaps try sharpening your blade? Will come back for more.
Average Malaysia faire, it's club based so the prices are fair with good portions, service was average with no highs or low. Reference pictures for food.
Unlike the iPoh in Sydney CBD, this one is nestled inside the Chatswood RSL. But access is easy, if you're not a member of the RSL beneficial as you get 10% discount, just sign in as temporary guest & head upstairs. Food was tasty for the items were had ordered, although a bit pricey compared to their other establishment. However, it is a more spacious area with generally good table service as long as its not busy. Definitely recommend the Hinanese Chicken with a little salty surprise inside the rice
Had lunch from here everyday in the past five days as I work at Chatswood during this period. Staffs are generally very nice and welcoming. Food was fast. Dishes have consistent quality in the past week so far. Hainanese chicken rice is tasty, rice not soggy and the boneless chicken leg was pached very well. The acidity and slightly sweet chili sauce and ginger cuts through the fat well. Recommended. Roti was soft and flaky, slightly bigger in size that settles you down for $6 bucks a piece a lil pricey with flavourful curry sauce.
