Look.. I’ll start with the positives... If you are looking for an informative and education time, this is a good place to go... However you are kind of force fed an hour long documentary at the start (which I did learn from) before finally being shown the aquarium. Once in the aquarium, we were unsure whether we were allowed to explore at our own pace or whether we had to stay with the owner on his guided tour. The owner was very knowledgeable, however was quite forceful with his information. Unfortunately there was a lack of fish for the money paid and our time would have been better spent elsewhere.

People that went there have got to agree with me to how hot it is inside there! But being open minded and trying to bare the heat you can learn a loooot from the man that runs the place. His knowledge about the ocean and marine life is amazing! Great to see all the sea life well looked after and all alive for so many years!

This place is geared towards the real reef experience. The owner is totally focused on the environment. It is a one man show and you should treat it as that and follow him about. My 8 yo said the movie was long but really fascinating. Not for the person looking for a glossy neon glib experience. It is a real learning experience. Very under rated.

Spent as much on admission price as aquariums with many rooms and 4 times as many exhibitions. The owner was keen for us to see the documentary movie of which we caught about 5 minutes (the people that were already there said they had been watching it for 28 minutes and that it was quite boring). We were then whisked into the first room to be interrogated by the owner about aquatic life (something we thought we would learn about when we got there). The owner (who was also the guide and admin person) told us about how all the tanks used natural cleaning methods and therefore had not been cleaned in 30 years. We didn't see many fish to be honest. We were then assured that if we came to the night event we would see an abundance of marine life including creatures that glowed in the dark. We were also told that the water was full of plankton that could easily be seen with a black light (something that probably could have been bought with our entrance fees since they weren't being used to clean the tanks). As the lecture continued we were lucky enough to have another group show up and distract our guide who then excused himself as we wondered whether we were allowed to move from the room. We inched through to the second room to find a few interesting tropical fish and one shark-like fish with another very scared looking silver fish in the tank. We don't know what types they were as no tanks had labels. Just random large posters on the walls with some quotes on them. The gift shop was pitiable at best with a few dust covered objects that might have attracted a few customers in 1999. The prized possession was the t-shirt with a badly written quote from "Finding Nemo" that was supposed to be humorously incorrect. Needless to say, we escaped as soon as we could. Go to Berry Springs Wildlife Park instead if you can. Much better value.
