Townsville's locally owned and operated IGA Supermarket.

Story

Since taking over the store on 11/3/2013, we now offer a whole shop, including freshly cut meat and fresh baked goods, as well as Fresh Produce, Deli, and groceries. We have installed a coffee machine and 6 slushy machines, as well as new refrigeration through the store. With the owners being local, and operating the store themselves, you get Quality service and personal attention. Come and support your locals, as see why our store is "How the Locals Like it". Arrived 10 minutes before they were supposed to close and they tried to say they were closed. Only let me in after I showed the Facebook post saying that they closed at 8pm and explained it’s 7:50, all I needed was apple sauce and the person that tried to stop me from coming in as well as the woman on the only open register were incredibly rude. Won’t be back!
I've slowly been buying less and less from here. I had been going here numerous times a week for 2 years but the woman with blonde hair is extreamly rude, never makes eye contact or speaks to you. I was spending close to $200 a week there but now it's closer to $50 which will drop again.nSlamming soft drink bottles on the counter, throwing items in bags, sighing and argh-ing while serving.nnYet I see her serve customers she personally knows even if they are right before you and laughs and jokes but you get there and nothing.nnI dont think she realises it's us customers that keeps these people in jobs.nnI tried to support a local business but it's coles for the win. Even their delivery drivers are more friendly than this blonde woman.
although the hours are convenient, the staff at the registers are extremely rude. i came here with my nanna and the checkout lady was being very rude to her; rolling her eyes, no manners, etc. after we left i was a bit annoyed that they’re so unnecessarily rude, and my nanna told me they’re always rude like that! it’s not that hard to be nice and polite especially when you’re doing your job and getting paid to do it.
I don't do big shops here but drop in for the odd bits and pieces. Always have nice treats in the deli
Expensive for most items but convenience by staying open until 10 pm every night, staff not friendly or helpful
