The hotel is really nice and grand as the name. Room is clean and comfy. The one thing that they really shine is the buffet breky. Very vegetarian friendly with wide variety of option. Very healthy and well thought and l am surprise they even have nutritional yeast which is extremely uncommon. Kudos!!!Rooms: 4/5
Went with my sister and stayed at this hotel found this to be the worst experience I’ve ever had. Had to request the room to be cleaned as it wasn’t done by 4 pm water was lukewarm requested for 4 times for the water to be adjusted and still was not done. Would not recommend this hotel. The only good thing about it was the location as we could walk everywhere. Staff were not helpful when I did ask for my room to be cleaned, the spoons were put back with still dirty. Complimentary hand soap shampoo were not replaced. Very poor service
We were due to check in at 2 but there was a hold up with rooms being cleaned. 5 cleaning staff were off sick with Covid. Manager really went out of his way while we waited . He gave us free drinks and food. Well doneRooms: 4/5
This is an old hotel but the rooms were great, much better than the Ibis. WiFi is fantastic, coffee and tea facilities in room, beds super comfy, air con works as it should. I was in room 815, corner room, very spacious. Th the breakfast is expensive and didn't look great, the dining area is very uninspiring. Large bar area but didn't look inviting. Staff were pleasant enough. They still make you do the $200 credit card guarantee which is just ridiculous and then you don't get it back for a further 7 days. The area to the left of the place is dodgy and looks run down, with massage parlours and kebab shops. To the right is Peel Street, which has great bars and restaurants. Fast food joints across the road and up the street. Never used the pool or gym.
We stayed for 3 nights in this wonderful hotel in early January. The staff were professional, helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. I would particularly like to mention Jacob who works behind the bar for his friendly, attentive and outstanding service. He remembered every drink we had in our party of 5 and we didn't need to ask him again. He is a high caliber employee and the hotel should value his contributions.
The most terrible hotel in Adelaide. Rude staff and unaccommodating to request. There’s a breakfast menu with the times of 6:30-11am. Ordered breakfast and some champagne but was told we could not have any alcohol until 11. When we questioned why this was on the breakfast menu but unable to be served we could not get a straight answer, just told they would speak to the manager when he contacted us he informed me he was told he was not allowed to serve our room any alcohol even though we had not had any complaints nor ordered any alcohol from them the whole night I’ve never experienced this at a hotel before in my life. We felt extremely discriminated against for no legit reason at all. Especially considering there there people drinking down stairs at the reception from 11pm till 3am, Obviously friends of the staff so there is different rules depending on who you are. Completely unprofessional, if your looking to go out somewhere for dinner and a place to stay DO NOT consider this hotel. They make the terms and conditions up as they go
This hotel is about one block from the train station. There are many restaurants and stores nearby within walking distance. Life around the hotel is vibrant. The staff are friendly. It is cheap to get an Uber to and from the airport. If I ever return to Adelaide, I would likely stay here again!
Probably wouldn't stay with children again. The foyer at night smelt of cigarettes, the pool area had a group drinking, swearing and vaping while taking up the whole spa area. Went to take the kids to dinner on Hindley but to many drunks and smokers so turned back for the hotel. Went to order in but they had no menue, only a scan bar so didn't bother as pH wouldn't scan. It's ok but not a suitable area for younger children. Staff are nice and rooms are clean.
Great environment and friendly staffs. Really enjoyed the pool area... So incredible and ridiculous that every stuff in the fridge has price tag on it including water except for one piece of milk for double rooms with multiple guests!!!
Staff: the staff was beautiful and so sweet to make you feel accommodated and welcomed, keep up the good work Location: 3/5 stars, it’s convenient because your close to so many shops and food places but doesn't earn 5 stars as it is on hindley street and everyone knows how things are on hindley street on Friday/Saturday nights, i enjoy the safety though of a guard by the door on weekends to make sure you had cards to get into the hotel of a night Rooms/pool/spa: i loved the rooms, they were very nice, the bathroom/shower is even better and i loved the showers there. the bed that i was sleeping on though was a little hard however and did cause a little pain in my back however. the pool and spa were awesome though, even if you did not want the jets on in the spa it was definitely warm enough to just sit in. i’ve never been in a sauna before so i was not so sure what to expect but it was great Food: i wish there was an option for me to rate about the food because i would give it 2.5 stars out of 5, one night i got room serviced some oysters which i have had millions of oysters before and never have gotten sick, i woke up in the middle of the night and threw them up and was bed ridden the following day because of how sick they made me. tasted great though beforehand. i also one morning went up for the breakfast buffet and the only two things i had to complain about was the scrambled eggs they definitely could have been cooked more and the pancakes it was a little pancake conveyor belt maker, which also resulted in the pancake could have been cooked more but that isn't anyones fault. also one morning of my stay we were woken up at around 9am with fire and excavation alarms going off, everyone did not seem to be in much of a hurry but when we went down to the desk it was acclaimed to be a false alarm, wasn't very happy of course to be woken up with alarms as i was sick and awake half the night before from the oysters. i heard two different stories because of the false alarm, i heard from one person that they were doing maintenance and they hit the alarm by accident but i also heard that someone had a shower and the steam let the alarms go off. when the alarms sounded i was not too worried as the night before staying i was looking at reviews and a month prior to our stay there was another false alarm.
