The most affordable yet wholesome meal I have had in Melbourne. Well-seasoned and nutritionally balanced! My dish contains grilled blue grenadier with brown rice, Asian greens poached and drizzled in soy sauce and sesame oil. I can tell the fish is fresh and will definitely come back to try others! Only if they cut the veggies shorter, or have chopsticks and spoon for Asian-style dishes like this would be awesome
Hooked on Glenferrie Road is a great fish and chip shop! Great menu which has good kids and glute free options. The food here is very consistent and good. Nice flavours, great serving sizes, you won't be disappointed. Staff are friendly and service is quick too. Good options to sit inside or out front. Never disappoints here for great fish and chips
A very affordable lunch option. Their $11.95 lunch special is a great deal with various selections. I went with the fish burger with chips and was overall happy with it. Only slight criticism was I think it lacked a little flavour and didn’t see much tartare sauce in mine. Most diners went with the grenadier with rice and salad/chips… seems like their best seller.
Good fish and chips however they need to employ some experienced staff to cater for busy lunch hours. I waited longer than I should have and was charged $33.05 for this meal by the cashier. Bit of common sense and observation needed for improvement. Happy to come back and give it another go.

Love this decor in the heart of Glenferrie road . The fried fish Flake and large Vietnamese coleslaw , it is something different from most and fish and chippery places. Hooray, they Had a low carb option for those who want it . The fish is a tad over cooked by perhaps 10 seconds. But overall most happy and will return . Nice serving size .

The best fish and chips I ever had!! Cooked so well for both fish n chips, crunchy n no grease, very affordable as they have the lunch deal, the salad are so fresh and perfect size portions! Will def come and visit again.
Hoping last night’s experience was a one-off! We order calamari & chips every couple of months from Hooked & it’s usually great. However last night - calamari was undercooked & soggy - chips were undercooked & soft - serve was mostly the soft chips, without the usual amount of calamari. Oil was probably not hot enough, and too little calamari - not a pleasant meal, I ended up throwing most of it out.
