I've been a member here for a while now, so hopefully, I can give an accurate review. Upon entry, you are greeted by staff who are friendly and very helpful. The cafe is well stocked and responsibly priced with good opening hours. The spa and hot rooms are great if you utilise this, some people tend to hover too long in the spas, but just pick your time of day. The leisure pool is great for small kids, and the big slide is perfect for everyone, even better when the bucket is working. It is disappointing when parents don't follow rules and the pool is shut because of 'contaminates'. I've never had issues finding space to swim some laps, and there is always room available. The member toilet and shower facilities are great, but when they are closed, you need to use the public rooms, which is not so much a nice experience. The shared facility family rooms are probably some of the most disgusting facilities I've ever used, regardless of the time of day. For this reason, I've taken a star off. The gym is tidy, clean, and modern with friendly staff. It's also a TechnoGym, so you can link everything to the app and track your workouts. I enjoy the classes, and the instructors are friendly and offer lots of alternatives. Overall, it's a great venue with lots on offer.
The constant switching between 50m and 25m pools is incredibly inconvenient. it really too much to ask for a reliable, Olympic-sized pool in the state capital of Tasmania ?nnThe $9.20 entry fee doesn't justify the quality of the service, especially considering the frequent pool length changes and the cost of living crisis.nnI don't necessarily want to go to Clarence it's too far for me.nnIt's a real shame that the city council seems more interested in maximizing profits than providing a quality service for the local community. Perhaps they should consider the financial realities of most Tasmanians.
Was very disappointed with pool supervisor staff yesterday morning. They observed and yet ignored 2 women with 5 young children between them “teaching” their children learn to swim in the walking/gentle exercise lane of the 25m pool. There were adults in that lane trying to do therapeutic gentle exercise while being splashed by young children who should not have been allowed in that lane.I spoke with one of the supervising staff as to the fact that one adult who had been exercising had left the lane in disgust. That staff member then approached the mothers of the children, pointed out to them that the lane was for walking/gentle exercise, however mothers and children remained in the lane, “modified” their pool behaviour fleetingly and then resumed their previous activities. Other adults left this lane because of these mothers and children occupying the lane. Disgusting and unthoughtful behaviour from both these entitled mothers, but also poor management of the situation by pool supervising staff.
Council run community pool and fitness centre. Lots of squad training and learn to swim most days. You really need to choose when to visit. Bit grotty and needs some maintenance and more regular cleaning.
Good aquatic center! Facilities clean; they have a little spa jacuzzi, dry and wet sauna, three big pools, a wet playground for the kids and a little gym with classes. Is not expensive if you have the membership all for 57 two weeks and the admission 52 dolars.
