Service was friendly but the food...oh boy. The integration of Fire and Brimstone's food is horrible. The brisket is dry and cold. We had a pepperoni pizza and for some reason it had 0 flavour? The dough was quite nice and well cooked but everything else on the pizza was so bland. The mash potato is also bland and so dry. The only redeeming thing here is seasoned chips and a nice smashed cheeseburger.
Came for lunch on my birthday with my wife and baby, such a let down. Neither of us ate our food.nnThe charcuterie board was just room temp pizza toppings thrown onto a plate, all the liquid from the capsicum soaked everything, crackers water logged. All the meat we very low qualitynnSchnitzel was such a disappointment, raw pink chicken, flavourless coating the whole thing just taste of fryer oil, chips were raw on the inside and mushroom sauce resembled canned soup.nnIcing on the cake we were told they weren’t doing any promotions despite signs saying they had Australia Day long weekend deals deals don’t apply on public holiday what’s the point of the signs.nnThis complete disaster cost us over $80 once public holiday surcharges were added
Atmosphere for a Friday was fun but a little loud if you are there not just for the football. Not great segregation between those there for the football and those not, so all round quite difficult to have an uninterrupted dinner on a Friday. Otherwise decor is good. Food is not horrible, but nothing good either.
Sunday night dinner with my husband and daughter. Spent over $100 at bistro to receive the lowest quality food I have been served in a long time. We ordered chicken schnitzel, pork bites, nachoes and a caprese salad.nnNachoes can only be described as a nacho soup… there was far too much sauce and there was not one corn chip to be salvaged in that soggy mess. The extra $8 for brisket was a stitch up with maybe two or three brunt chunks buried in the goop.nnCaprese salad was full of over ripe furry tomatoes. Heirlooms had no taste and Tiger tomatoes soft and skin was spongey like they should have been thrown out 3 days ago. The buffalo mozzarella resembled more of a cottage cheese than anything.nnChicken schnitzel was good but chips were undercooked. Pork bites were the only redeeming item.nnSave your money - drive to the Winsto.
Hillside hotel is the best local pub in the hills area. Shoutout to Nick the venue manager, he’s friendly, inclusive and his vibe radiates positivity making sure everyone is having a great time and he is great to talk to. The food at Hillside is great. Come in, order and sit down for some delicious wood fire pizzas and a wide variety of other foods including the bistro upstairs. Bartenders are always fast and efficient with the orders with little to no complaints. Hillside is a venue you definitely should try if a night arises where food is a part of your plans as well as vibes. Highly recommend Hillside to any patron
