Worst service ever. I order my coffee through skip. The manager at entrance was rude. She asked me waited there and just kept talking to her colleague. And I’m in a rush. My coffee supposed to be ready a, but it is not ready when I arrived. It is okay I understand that. Higher ground is a busy shop. So I told her I’m rush for an inspection and would come back and collect it. When I came back, the coffee has been cancelled. And the lady at the front door in charge of arranging table was like it was totally my fault. However one of the staff who was very nice. He said he could make a fresh one for me. This star is for him. Wont go there anymore. Ruined my day.

They are certainly doing something right. Menu was small but varied with enlightening choice of ingredients. I talked to the head chef about how they managed in such a tiny kitchen. There were 6 chefs at lunch, with a further 4 due in to prepare dinner. The teamwork, attention to detail, speed etc were items I took note of. He runs an exceptional ship. Coffee was so so

The atmosphere inside is amazing and I appreciated that Higher Ground took names at the door rather than making all patrons wait in a line on the street (which is the accepted protocol on Hardware Lane). The menu was a little different which I appreciated, and my group shared a mixture of sweet and savoury dishes, coffees and cocktails. My two cons: batch brew tasted a bit like water, and my table had hotcakes for dessert so our waitress cleared the savoury plates but forgot new plates.

Lovely breakfast place. Beautiful setting. I would recommend ordering the ricotta hotcake... just make sure you are hungry! It's massive.

Really great ambience, awesome venue. Good coffee. Not five stars because there are many cool coffee shops and I reserve five stars for an extraordinary experience. Would have appreciated a few more vegan options.
