Haymes Paints in Whitehorse Road Deepene has been taken over two years ago by a husband and wife team from Thailand. They have little English but we experienced every assistance to obtain our desired two touch up colours for our front door. Their kitchen needs a good clean and toilet is kept clean. Worth a visit if you need Haymes Heritage Paints or equipment.

For over 17yrs this would be the only paint shop (now AKA PaintRight) I would go to, as the staff were friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. Painted the exterior & interior of our home twice over with their advice & products. Recommended them to friends, family, neighbours & professional painters. NOT ANYMORE. All the existing staff have now gone & Martin, a rude, incompetent man has replaced them. He told me the business had changed hands & stated the new owners were "Asians" in a derogatory tone. He told me that the colour I wanted couldn't be done, even though I had probably bought 6 x 4 litre tins in the past of this colour. Meantime he bragged about how much experience he had. It turned out that the colour was wrong, so I returned to the shop about an hour later. On entering the shop, Martin looked at me and muttered a rude comment. I had brought an old tin with me, to show him the Resene colour I was after. With him saying he can't do any better & me saying well it looks like you left the colour out, he checked his formula. He had used the tint formula for a one litre tin & not a 4 litre tin that I had bought. He then incorrectly recalculated the amount of tint that needed to be added for the correct colour. On testing the paint on my wall, it still did not match the existing paint, so I am guessing there could have even been an error with calibrating the amount of tint added from the machine. Martin did not once apologise for his mistakes & maintained his negative manner throughout. I did not & will not go back to this store & will no longer recommend them. If Martin doesn't change his attitude, appearance & attend to personal hygiene, he will be the demise of this business. It's such a shame, as this was such an excellent, unique business in previous years.
