Wonderful tasty Greek food. The service was excellent and the location (Brunswick) was easy to access and park. My sister had a great birthday there. Interior was nicely decorated particularly the fishing baskets over the light fixtures. Basically nearly everything was of a high standard. Only gripe was that the cutlery was pretty cheap and lacked the quality feel and finish that an 18/10 piece would have - considering the price of the food, a restaurant set of better cutlery could be absorbed in a night's takings. Thanks for a memorable evening. Keep up the high standards

My boyfriend and I went to Hellenic Republic in Brunswick East last night to check out the vegan degustation menu that they have on the first Tuesday of every month. It was AMAZING! The flavours and textures and the absolute variety of the food was magnificent! I love that they were able to create a vegan version of traditional Greek dishes. I didn't feel like it was lacking in anything and the absolute abundance of food was overwhelming (in a good way) They were happy to package up what we couldn't eat to take home :) The service was perfect to a T. We were not familiar with Hellenic wines and Jake the host was able to describe and recommend a wine that would perfectly compliment the our dinner. Staff were super friendly and attentive and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very warm and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back and I've already told a bunch of my friends that they have to try the vegan night! Thank you for a wonderful evening guys!

Great food and atmosphere. The feed the family takeaway pack is great quality and value and more than feeds a family of 4. Addition on 1-2-18 I am downgrading my rating as I have just discovered that without notice they have started using peanuts in their rice dessert. This detracts from the flavour and is also an unhelpful modification to the dish in the context of relatively widespread peanut allergies and sensitivities. This is a poor and Ill considered change to their menu and I write this to make people aware of the change which may put people who are allergic to peanuts at risk if they have eaten this dish previously and think it is still safe to consume.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about Hellenic Republic! Plenty of food in the 4 course banquet and everything was delicious - especially the lamb. Wait staff were very friendly and helpful although they were busy. My favourite meal from our stay in Melbourne.

Was here a couple of weeks ago with a large group of friends. We had the amazing 4 course banquet. Everyone was extremely happy with the food, especially how they catered for Celiac's, and other allergies like fish & peanuts. There was no need to ask about what is in each dish and if it was safe, as they brought out alternatives at each course. The service was constant, glasses were always filled and staff were very kind and informative.
