Havana Club

Worst dining experience of myand my friends life! Whilst searching for somewhere nice to eat in Auckland we were dragged into this Cuban style bar selling Mexican and pub cuisine. At first it was only us and a few others but shortly after about 100 students came in and the music was really cranked up. No one else was eating and we were excluded from the offers that everyone else was getting. As the arrival of the students was clearly planned, we wondered why the Havana Club even needed our business in the first place. Secondly the food took 65 minutes to arrive. We were the only people eating! It seemed as if the only person working in the kitchen was an extremely new trainee. We asked where the food was as we were now going to miss a pub quiz we had planned to go to and I was told shortly. The food arrived 35 minutes later! The food we had ordered was simple. A Mexican wrap and a spicy Chicken with Chips. The wrap was like someone had thrown up on a tortilla however it was edible despite poor quality. The chicken was not. It was raw - pink throughout, and with the texture of jelly, served alongside a fairly meagre portion of oven chips. This took 65 minutes and we were told on arrival they had a great new menu. We could have got food poisoning had we eaten the raw chicken! Well done Havana!
