The Hansel and Gretel store was founded in 1974 as a small coffee, nut and confectionary retail outlet, themed on a Gingerbread House in the fairytale “Hansel and Gretel”. Today, Hansel and Gretel is a popular supplier of not only some of the most delicious (And not to mention notoriously hard to find) dutch liquorice, It also boasts over 20 different types of aromatic and flavoursome coffees!

The key to the success of this business is its boutique coffee which is masterfully roasted in house, freshly roasted and flavoured nuts and the best selection of local and imported confectionery from around the world! Alongside an unsurpassed dedication to customer service, Hansel & Gretel is one of the best coffee-houses in Canberra!

Nice surprise to find this cafe in the area! had Hansel burger with the wonderfully soft patty, just wish the patty was a bit bigger because my taste buds were wanting more. Still the whole burger kept me full for the rest of the day. Nice coffee to chill & relax in this beautiful shop.

Everything is ridiculously overpriced.
Ordered a burger & fries: $19.
Was told it would be 10mins... over 30mins later I was handed my luke-warm food.
It was pretty good but not worth what they charge.
Also the coffee is pretty ordinary.

Delicious cakes, warm and cosy ambience, friendly staff, fabulous selection of teas and coffee served in beautifully quaint china. A delightful place to sit and chat on a cold Canberra morning!
