Miniature train rides don’t get any better than this! Watch videos with volume up to enjoy the sounds of a real steam locos in full steam, as well as authentic track sounds. Thanks to Halswell Miniature Trains C.S.M.E.E. for a wonderful event. Always an enjoyable day out there. Today was another reminder why this is our favourite attraction at Christchurch and why we take all our visitor friends and family here.
It was very busy today but what an awesome experience.Lines were flowing fast and plenty of trains going. I enjoyed myself, brother and the 2 kids had fun. The two ladies had amazing customer service Jacky and her mum. Thank you ladies I would highly recommend going here. We were fortunate enough that they got the sausage sizzles going and it was so worth the wait. Weather held off, got a little sprinkle but not enough to stop us from not going on again. Awesome train drivers and people to deal with . Thank yous
A great outing for families young and old. You can ride the trains and enjoy the scenery for a very small fee. The amount of effort invested by the volunteers and enthusiasts is incredible. It really adds character to the local area and community.
Great entertainment for kids and adults, open to public on Sunday, normally 1 pm to 4 pm for train rides.
CASH ONLY!! Awesome Reserve with miniature trains runs every week by volunteers. This is heaven for kids. Huge outdoor space to run around. $2 per train ride for all ages, big train small train even steam train runs by coal! Pedestrian crossing with train lights. A small lake that has ducks and geese feeding not allowed also in the lake there are volunteering miniature cruiseships and jet boat operating. There's also a park with slides and swing right next to it. Best to park at William Britain are, just cross a small bridge to get to the miniature train, ample parking on site. Runs from 1-4pm. Cash only!!
Absoloutely incredible value at $2 a ride. Run 100% by volunteers, everything is well maintained and in great condition. The knowledge and engineering experience these guys have must be 100s of years of cumulative knowledge as they build the trains from nothing, including the steam boilers - which are tested and certified. Great people and very keen to share their knowledge if you're interested.
Love going here so much. We've only been twice but its so much fun and affordable. Train rides are $2 person/kid or $10 for 6 rides or $20 for 12. We bought the $20 ticket and we still have 6 rides left which we'll be using for another day.
This an awesome and really fun place to be. so many trains to Look at and ride on everything from miniature diesel-electric to miniature steam trains with genuine coal powered engines. The trains are so much fun, there's tonnes of track...and even both a tunnel and an overbridge. There's also a level crossing with flashing lights for pedestrians. What's also fun is a lake for radio controlled yachts. picnic tables abound as do grassy areas for your mat. a really groovy place to come...highly recommended.
A great Sunday activity for children and adults.
Brilliant! A must for kids big and small. Everyone that volunteers is lovely to deal with. The train are awesome and it's a great place to relax and spend a day. Also a cool playground and skatepark.
