I’ve been to a few or the Groove Trains around Melbourne and they are pretty good generally. Today we had the lamb pizza and drinks were pineapple juice. Disappointed that the juice had so much ice that it was somewhat watered down. Pizza was good. Service took a while. More that it was understaffed than the staff not being good. Menu is extensive. Quite a few work colleagues here having lunch and their food looked good. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. High chairs available. Good parking at Shoppo. Will try again and hope it improves.
Stopped by for dinner before the movies. Restaurant is very spacious and you can see the city skyline view from the window. I was pleasantly surprised by their lamb pizza. They were very generous with the lamb topping that I had a piece of lamb with every mouthful. The flavour was also perfect. Pasta was so so, big serving size however I found it too cheesy for my liking.
Good clean place, nice flowing decor, minimalist approach lends itself very well to a chilled environment. burgers and wrap meals are amazing yeah! , meals with rice/pasta....such a disappointment couldn't eat my morrocan lamb bland and poorly arranged.the menu is varied but I'll be sticking with burgers and wraps and chips nice golden flavorful and crucnhy
Ordered a Prosciutto Pizza for 23.90 take away and what a joke plenty of Napoli sauce but no, mozzarella, gorgonzola, mascarpone at all... ALL 3 NOT ON PIZZA.. pizza was cold beyond repair. when called and complained not apologetic at all 25 % discount on next order or collect another new pizza, we wouldn't have ordered take away if we wanted to collect in the first place. How about you keep the 25% discount and offer the customer a 100% refund for stuffing up a pizza with 4 ingredients. . will never order from here again.....
When did trio dips get demoted to duo? $17.90 When did the calamari population become endangered? $13.50. Why is it when I asked if the mixed grill platter is seasoned that moments later the response is “if you’d like you can have some ‘Meat Juice’ on the side”? Something is very wrong here.
Save yourself some time, & don’t bother coming to this Groove Train location. I went with a friend of mine earlier tonight, we waited at least 5-6 minutes to be seated. We sat, and waited an extra 10-12 minutes for one of the staff to help us and serve us. Food, on the other, hand was quick. By the time we finished up, we wanted to pack some dinner away to take home, waited minutes and minutes for staff to come to help us, but no one was around. It wasn’t even busy! There was at least 3 or 4 tables taken, and the venue wasn’t even packed. And absolutely NO STAFF had our attention! Absolutely disgraceful. Don’t come here.
The food was delicious but the service was disgraceful. After we were seated we waited over ten minutes to have our order taken. It wasn't busy at all so we were surprised at the delay. After our meals we wanted to order dessert. We had to go and find a staff member to give us menus then after waiting another ten minutes, we again went to find someone to take our order. When they took the order they left the main meal plates on the table. We ended up moving the dirty plates ourselves. The 4 staff members spent a lot of time chatting to each other instead of serving the mere 5 tables of customers. Not good enough.
I went to the groove train for dinner around 8pm on a Tuesday night. We were served by friendly staff and the food arrived quickly. Meals are quite large, as a small eater an entree normally fills me up. Pricing is fine. My only concern is that around 8:15 staff began telling us they were closing the kitchen soon and that if we were wanting more food we would have to order it then. On google it says you are open until 9pm every night so I assumed that the kitchen would be open until then also?
I came in last Friday night with my partner and were greeted with a friendly smile by the female waitress who attended to us. She sat us down and took our orders with such vibrant attitude. The food was AMAZING I had the warm chicken salad and my partner had a chicken parma. We could not fault it one bit! The dessert range was lovely - we enjoyed a double choc cake with a latte, made to perfection. The food, restaurant and customer service was certainly worth every cent paid. Compliments to the chefs, waiters and staff. Will certainly be returning. :
AVOID! This groove train is abysmal. They are always understaffed for waitresses and bartenders. This increases the wait time on being seated, getting served and receiving drinks/ food. There are already so many comments on this issue yet management fail to fix it? The business is obviously slow and not doing well, so if you cannot afford to roster on more staff then close the doors or figure something out. Food is below average. Plating and presentation is careless and thrown on the plate, correct condiments and sides are never paired with meals. For example seafood including fish and calamari are never given with tartare sauce or lemon? Something that is so basic? I believe the kitchen needs to care a little more or be provided with some better training, and there needs to be more staff on during service. All waitresses are pleasant despite these issues.
