Revised 4* review: 18/06/2020: Brunelli is back open with restricted seating because of Corona Virus. Bookings are definitely needed as there are only 6 or so tables available at any time. Original 4* review. We've eaten here several times over the last 10 or more years. Brunellis always seems to be busy which is a good sign for a smallish local suburban restaurant. We went on a Wednesday night and the place was at least 80% full, but our party of 5 was comfortably and promptly accomodated. Clean modern styling in the restaurant, even the toilets were modern and spotless. Environment wise only complaint was it was a bit cold inside and we all spent the 2 or so hours or so we were there with our jackets on. Ordered mains, salads and entrés as mains as well as a few desserts. Everything was delicious, and as the waitress explained when I tried to order one of the Stracceti di Manzo Strip Fillet Steak  with red peppers entrés that the entrés were very large and unless I was ravenous, should be sufficient. She was right, they were huge! We also had a seafood salad, Mushroom Veal, a Pasta dish and a very large Greek Salad. Panna Cotta, and a Sticky Date for Dessert. All the dishes were generous serves and attractively plated. We sampled several of their wines by the glass, all were delicious, especially the Loose Leaf CabSav. All were, we think, reasonably priced at $8 a glass. The waiters were friendly and attentive, without being clingy and gave knowledgeable advice about the meals we ordered. Only things not giving a 5 star was that my mother's main dish was forgotten, and had to be requested again as the rest of the group were half way through their mains when we realised her dish was not coming. Staff were very apologetic and the main arrived in less than 5 minutes. They also offered us a free dessert along with their apologies. We enjoyed our meal and drinks and will definitely be back again
Not too expensive, and the meals are quite large we all had leftovers. Desserts are simple bit so tasty. Will definitely come back, perfect for a small get together.
Nice cozy restaurant with stone fired pizza oven. Meals are good, but I'd recommend ordering pizza.
I am not a big fan of Italian food but we had a family gathering there so I had to attend. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the atmosphere. We visited as a group of 10, with ages between 5 - 55 and and everyone loved their dishes. Portion sizes are generous and filling and the menu is varied so there's a choice for everyone. Highly recommended.
Well came here to celebrate 2 birthdays. Read reviews and sounded like somewhere we'd enjoy for dinner with the family. From the minute we walked in a lady who hid behind the front counter all night was not very accommodating at all. We asked a request of air conditioning turned on as it was super warm was ignored. They had 2 lovely ladies working the floor doing their best with the pressure they were under! Drinks for a table of 16 took close to half an hour from then we wondered what dinner would be like. We decided to place our order after waiting so long for drinks. After an hour of waiting watching other tables who walked in later receive their meals. We asked the question what has happened to our food its now 8pm wondering where is our food? Which then the owner decided to give attitude then all a sudden our meals arrived. We turned up at 6pm and ate at 8 with kids who were restless by then wanting food! I will admit food was great but the lack of service was very poor. And the poor ladies working the floor trying to deal with all the pressure handled themselves well and I hope you reward them because they did a great job and shouldn't be apologizing on behalf of an owner and ex owner who should step up and take on some responsibility and customer service skills!
We frequent Brunelli and now in lock down still get takeaway. The service is always friendly and food is always great! I get so annoyed when people go to their local restaurant which they have attended many times and then use discount vouchers....it’s so rude! Just support your local business through this difficult time and make sure they are still there when things get back to normal. These guys work hard and we have always enjoyed their great food and service so it’s 5 stars from us!
Every time I've been here it has been great! The food is delicious, the service is warm and friendly, and the value for money is spot on. I catch up with a friend here regularly and we talk a lot! At Brunelli we don't have to shout over loud music or noise. It's quiet and relaxed and we always enjoy ourselves
Loved the Garlic Prawn pasta, prosciutto Pizza and kid's Bolognese. Cocktails were delicious as well. But most importantly the staff were patient and very friendly. I'll definitely go there again. Recommend.
1st time I have been to it though I have lived in the area for 20 yrs. Lots of windows. A bit swueezy when full. Nice food. All 6 of us enjoyed our Generous size meals. Full licence. Beers about $7.50 which is a bit lower than is usual. Nice atmosphere, A bit cafe but friendly. Overall very reasonable and we will go again.
Had my son's birthday dinner there and from the moment we walked in we were made to feel quite unwelcome. We were told off for making noise within 10 minutes of being there - the restaurant was empty aside from our table! Then one of our guests sat on an empty chair from one of the other empty tables and was told off! There were a dozen empty tables and we weren't allowed to sit on the chair? And then the manager ? wanted to argue with me about accepting the entertainment voucher, claiming that it was a function I just booked a table, is that a function? so wasn't going to let me use the voucher of $25 on a $700 bill! Won't be going there again. The other wait staff were very courteous and nice, if it wasn't for the manager that ruined the night for me, it could have been better. The food is average anyway.
