Small restaurant and bar, good separation between the two in my opinion. Could not fault the scotch fillet with eggs and chips. Fillet just disolved in the mouth and eggs were runny top and buttery for the rest of the yolk. Just the way I like it. Chips were crispy in the outside and soft within. Was to full for dessert but they looked really good too.
Absolutely awesome meals! We had the salt and pepper squid and pork spare ribs for entree, seriously yum!!! Then we had 400grm Boston scotch fillet steak, that was cooked perfectly. I would honestly recommend this place to anyone. Staff were so accommodating, made you feel welcome. We will definitely come back again, so thank you for a great experience .
Steak perfectly cooked. Sauces awesome. Staff are great, barman very knowledgeable. Owner personable with a sense of humour. Decor so cool and the music just tops it off. I've found my happy place.
We went to Grill@42 a few weeks ago. I ordered a blue steak which was cooked perfectly to my liking. Grill@42 is one of only a few restaurants that can actually cook it correctly. The chef explained how he does it, which was most interesting. This place is well worth a visit. Best steak ever.
The steak was cooked to perfection and the pork belly just melted in your mouth absolutely beautiful. The apple sauce was amazing as was the vegetables and the gravy had such an incredible taste, I actually ate that on its own, that's how good it was. The ribs and mussels were also amazing. We have been to alot of restaurants up and down this country as we both my husband and I travel alot and I honestly have to say the food is the BEST by far. The atmosphere is superb, staff very friendly didn't wait too long for the food will most definitely be the go to restaurant for us whenever we are in Taupo again.
Great find in Taupo CBD. The service was above and beyond, especially helping me dry out since I was soaked from the rain. The food was inventive and delicious. I had Brie bars as a starter and the fish special. The decor is eclectic and has a bit of an Old World vibe. Definitely a great place for dinner.
We had to wait more than an hour for food even though there were only 1 other group beside us. Ours steaks were over cooked. We ordered medium, and it came out extremely well done This place is a joke. I would them -5 stars if I could.
Wow!!!! We've found it........ the best steak meal in Taupo. Grill @ 42......What a great place, the staff were friendly, the service was excellent and the food was absolutely fabulous. The Schnitzel Cordon Bleu was superb, the Prime Eye Fillet melted in your mouth and the Crème Brulee is now our favourite ever dessert. We give it 20 out of 10, and can't wait to enjoy it again.
Definately 5 stars for this place. We had a family dinner here last weekend and the service was fantastic - super friendly and welcoming. The meals were superb A+ . Would highly recommend. My husband loved his steak !! We even had a family game of chinese checkers that they had at the restuarant. Thank you for a fantastic meal out
Loved food and atmosphere. Awsome chef and staff.. had a great nite.. just let down by loud obnoxious curly haired lady .. talking to chefs about sauce.. then she was just wanting us to leave so she could play music loud and drink.. let down
