Absolutely my favourite Discovery park. 1st time in Goolwa and definitely won't be my last. Stayed in deluxe cabin & it was perfect. Very modern, great amenities & everything you need. Bed was sensational. I slept more in the 3 nights while I was than than I can remember. Wish I could take it home with me lol. Staff are amazing & very attentive, actually strike up a conversation about something you told them previously. Nice walk to main strip with shops, bakeries and petrol station. Variety of restaurants. Very close to Port Elliott & Victor Harbour. Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back!
I stayed at Discovery Parks - Goolwa and it was an amazing caravan park for kids and adults.nnThe first thing I’d like to say is, the jumping pillow is excellent. Very bouncy and soft. Nice shading covers. My feet would be fried if that wasn’t there.nnAlso, it has a nice big concrete path around the whole park. Perfect for bike or scooter riding. The staff are kind too.nnNice and quiet unlike most other places where people stay up all night at the camp kitchen being as loud as they can. Fabulous location for a caravan park too!nnThe waterpark is really cool and it has a lot of stuff to do. Cool slides, sprinklers and the falling water bucket is really cool. If it’s winter and you want to go in the pool then go in the water park first so your body can get used to the cold water so it’s easier to get in the pool.nn30 minute drive to victor harbor where you can play The Dunes Minigolf Course and it’s pretty good. Also in victor harbor there is a beach with some really cool looking shells.nnOverall, great caravan park. I would 100% recommend this place for a holiday.
I just spent a great 12-night stay here on a powered site using a great online deal from the Discovery Parks website.nnIt's a large, modern park with nice open spaces, and the large swimming pool looked good, but it's too cold at this time of year for me, at least.nnThe only slight thing that was a bit odd was the new toilet/shower block in the newer part of the park. While nice and new, it had these cheap and nasty shower heads that spray everywhere except straight down. However, I noticed the old shower block in the older part of the park had more modern handheld showers with great pressure, so I used those instead, I don't know why these parks have got to use theses cheap quality shower heads, they really are not very nice to use.nnBut the showers were only a slight thing, it really didn't matter too much, overall I loved my stay here, and I'd definitely come back sometime in the future
We stayed for two nights in one of the family cabins with our elderly mums.nExcellent set up, very cosy and close to all we needed.nThai so our second stay here and we will be back again.
Not Family Friendly – Loud, Offensive, and Completely IgnorednnWe stayed at Discovery Parks Goolwa over Easter and it was a major disappointment. A large group around 25-30 people across sites 45–47 and the 3 sites that backed in ruined the entire weekend — drinking and blasting music from lunchtime every day, then ramping it up into the night. The earliest they stopped was 10:30pm, and on the final night they kept going until 12:30am, yelling, singing, and swearing at the top of their lungs like they were at a pub.nnThe language was absolutely foul — constant and aggressive. If they said three words, two of them were swear words. We’ve stayed at parks all over the country and never heard anything like it, especially not with so many kids around.nnIt didn’t stop there. One of their mates attempted a skid in a ute just two metres from our tent — with children all around. They also played a song filled with racial slurs. There were at least six kids under 10 on surrounding sites, including ours. It was unsafe, offensive, and totally inappropriate for a park that claims to be family-friendly.nnA neighbour politely asked them to turn the music down at 10:08pm on the second night and was told to wait — because they were “partying even harder” the next night. And they did. This was all communicated to the front of house team….nnAnd what did Discovery Parks do? Sent one generic text asking all guests to keep the noise down after 10pm. That was it. No staff followed up, no one came down, and nothing was done to address the situation.nnIf Discovery Parks are going to have rules, they need to enforce them. If they’re going to allow large groups, they need to take responsibility when things get out of control. And if they’re going to promote themselves as family friendly, then this kind of behaviour simply cannot be ignored.nnThe idea that guests should have to enforce your 10pm curfew themselves by calling an after-hours number — while trying to calm scared or overtired kids — is just not good enough. A group of 25+ people across six sites was out of control every night, and a single generic text message doesn’t cut it.nnWe ended up leaving a day early and staying elsewhere just to catch up on sleep. A tired child is not a happy child — and thanks to this stay, no one in our group was.nnWe won’t be returning — and if you’re a family looking for a safe, relaxing place to stay, we strongly suggest you look elsewhere too…
