I submit this review on behalf of a fellow friend of mine as he is a current member ( and has recently cancelled his membership) and doesn't want his name on this review. This gym has ISSUES! The gym is disgusting and filthy! The men's change rooms are HORRIBE and appear to never be cleaned! The sauna (when it works) we don't believe has ever been cleaned. A member cut his toe nails in the sauna and they were still sitting on the bench a week and a half later (just one example of many). The cleaner needs to get fired as all he seems to do is walk around on his mobile phone talking to his friends. There is mould growing on the sauna floor due to it never being wiped clean. Lets discuss maintenance... what maintenance?? There is NONE! The male change rooms has 4 showers. 2 are OUT OF ORDER...so you pay top dollar for your membership and only get 2 working showers. One shower has been out of order since last year. We are now in March!! They advertise this gym to have a steam room? been out of order for over 6 months and looks like a further 6 months until it's ready to be used again. Last year, the workers stripped the tiles from the wall because it was full of Asbestos (yes that's correct, a worker told me and a few other members) and it hasn't changed all year. Looks like the gym ran out of money and the workers are on strike until they can get payment to continue their work. No wonder the gym jumps on you for your money! The spa is always out of order...and when it works, never clean! Members go from the sauna into the spa without showering and I know for a fact that a large number of members catch an infection from this spa due to its unhygienic state. Back to the subject of only having 2 showers. One has a missing shower head (one would assume that it's not too hard to go to Bunnings and get a new one, but that seems to be too hard and management would much prefer for it to be out of order for 2 weeks before they spend the $10 to fix it)..We need to make it clear that this gym is NOT like other gyms. As they offer the swim classes to the public..of course naturally they also use the showers. Imagine this scenario. Saturday morning, 6 people lining up to have a shower and yelling at those in the shower to hurry the F up.. then 2 others walk in to use the showers so they can go to work (these 2 are members who pay good money for their membership) and they have to wait in line as 2 showers are out of order and the others are being used by the swim class people. Not good enough!!! No point complaining to management, they don't care. They just say things will change in time and bad luck... What? They jumped on me the other day when I walked in because my son was behind one payment in his membership...why are you telling me? and big deal? get your gym facilities up to speed, clean the joint up and you won't lose 10 members a week. Use your brains Goodlife Hoppers! Better off going to Goodlife Point Cook. That gym is so neat, it even smells clean before you walk past reception. Seems like Hoppers need to take a leaf (or 20) out of Point Cooks book!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have been members for quite sometime and have been more than patient with this gym. It will never change, so we just wanted to share our honest and genuine experience with you and why we cancelled our memberships too. Goodlife Hoppers members...Crunch fitness opening up soon at the plaza. Only $9.95 pw... this will take most of the members from this gym and the rest will go to anytime fitness or Derrimut.. Not worth spending your money on a gym that is at the bottom of the list in the area when it comes to standards.

Such a hassle to cancel my membership even though it was way past the initial 12 month lock in period and the staff just so so rude, Im sure if I were pals with them or in their clique at the gym I wouldve been treated differently. 2 of the trainers are awesome and would give 5 stars just for them but unfortunatley the rest of the staff and facilities are poor to say the very least. Do not recommend at all.

The womens bathroom is disgusting. There is mold on the tiles and hair everywhere on the ground. Its as if it never gets cleaned. The female gym is sad and smelly. Sorry to say but I wouldn't even give it 1 star.
