Story

The Golden Beach Tavern is a privately owned hotel in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. The GBT is one of the LAST privately owned places on the Coast and we have just completed major renovations. Come and take a look around and while you’re at it enjoy a coffee in our alfresco café, or dine in Almarco’s restaurant. We are changing the way people think about us...the GBT is the new 'it' place to be on the Coast! Don't waste another second...get down here!

Massive portions of great quality food at extremely reasonable prices.nnThe decor and atmosphere is great and unlike any other tavern I have been too.nnService was prompt and the staff were extremely friendly.nnI highly recommend it for Lunch or dinner.nnA+

What a hotel   ‍ nStaff here treat you like family and the food is excellent .   I could not rate these guys higher.nFood came out 5 mins after ordering and it was a packed house!nGreat quality and taste.nThe sticky date pudding also a winner

A young waiter/bar staff, Daniel, was so friendly..very nice guy. Helpful...and happy.nWe ordered by 5.30pm and our meals were brought out quite quickly. The meals also were super delicious..my sister and I were impressed with the cleanliness..the quickness of the meals and the tasty meals..we were mainly impressed with Daniel. He was so good at his job.nNice place to eat.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch out today. Our server Dan was very polite, courteous and jovial, he really made the experience very relaxed and easy. The food was well priced, decently sized and the salad was plentiful, not boring. The food arrived promptly, everything tasted wonderful and was hot upon arrival. No troubles with any part of the experience, so 5 stars all around.

Decided to come for lunch after reading the great reviews and we weren't disappointed. There's no beach view, but the food and service make up for that. It has a relaxed feel and all the staff, and in particular Bridgette, are friendly and helpful. The seniors' menu coconut prawns were delicious, apart from one stodgy one that must've been last in first out of the oil. The chips were crunchy and the salad was there. Quite a sizeable senior's meal. The entree calamari was nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked. Once again, a sizable entree size. BUT THE HANDS DOWN STANDOUT were the Spicy Lamb Ribs. Omg. How good? The best I've ever eaten. Lamb was juicy and tender. A nice amount of fat to meat ratio. Some delicious gnarly bits poking their heads out through the superbly balanced sticky, slightly sweet but spicy sauce, that had been reduced and caramelised to the 'Goldie Locks' point. Yes, they are spicy, but it's so well balanced it's the best I've ever tasted.
