Story

The Golden Beach Tavern is a privately owned hotel in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast. The GBT is one of the LAST privately owned places on the Coast and we have just completed major renovations. Come and take a look around and while you’re at it enjoy a coffee in our alfresco café, or dine in Almarco’s restaurant. We are changing the way people think about us...the GBT is the new 'it' place to be on the Coast! Don't waste another second...get down here!

My family and I were all very pleased with our meals! Between the five of us, nobody had a single complaint.nnSteaks were cooked well. The portions were generous. Lots of customization available. The dining area outside is nice. The staff were all very friendly and professional. Great value for money.

Amazing service staff! Shout out to Anna, Molly and Ellie who were very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Perfectly cooked steaks, good menu choices and fast service. Would benefit from an area for children to play in. The large Connect 4 game had missing pieces so we were not able to play a game and nothing else on offer.

I stopped in at Golden Beach Tavern in Caloundra and was really impressed. I ordered the Cob Seafood Chowder and the Lamb Shank, and both dishes were excellent. The chowder came served in a warm cob loaf, rich and creamy with plenty of fresh seafood – it was hearty and full of flavour. The lamb shank was slow-cooked to perfection, falling off the bone and paired beautifully with the mash and vegetables. The portion sizes were generous, the flavours spot on, and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. Definitely a great spot on the Sunshine Coast for a satisfying meal.

We have just had a stressful medical appointment and came to the GBT for a quick bite to eat. We were greeted by Peter at the bar. What a delightful man. So positive and happy and he really looked after us. Peter, you made a difference to our day. Thank you

The renovations are over and it’s even better than before. Stupid me stuffed up my order and when they delivered the meal it was no problem got them to change it totally - even though it was my fault. Awesome loaded fries of the world, the wings rocked and the steak sandwich was amazing on the garlic toast.nThanks to the great crew especially Chloe who looked after us. And I love the new big round table too.
