No idea how they managed to get my vegetable pastie hot in some spots and completely cold right next to it. It was dry as well. No service at all, we were sitting at a table and instead of bringing it over, they told us it was ready and waited for us to pick it up. Lots of lights don't work in this venue, looks like staff can't be bothered at all. The peppermint tea was good at least.
To start we were served with a friendly greeting, and our order taken quickly, however after paying found the wrong items had been entered on the receipt and refused to be fixed just annoying if you are claiming business expenses The options for food really aren't there. The cheese they use for their sandwiches is really thick and ruins the food. We were offered whipped cream on top of a drink and received it without, but they were happy to add it after I don't know if these people are trainees or just forgetful Last but not least the coffee was quite bitter, I don't mind a strong coffee but they can't be extracting their espresso correctly with this flavour. I'm giving 3 stars because I have had good coffee here before. But consistency is very important to coffee lovers so just a heads up!
Lady serving was lovely, sadly this was all that was positive. The service was very slow even with few customers in the shop. The coffee was not hot and so bitter I couldn’t drink it. The sandwich bread was falling apart and the bacon in it was not cooked properly, raw fat. Also, there were no sanitation options, and considering the current pandemic, inexcusable. It was also quite dirty. Yes, I could have walked out, but I’d spent my money by then. Overall, ok but wouldn’t go back,
Staff were nice and friendly but that's about it. The coffee was horribly bitter to the point of not being consumable, the New York cheesecake was flavourless and the Caramel Slice was the worst I've ever had. I question whether these are fresh at all they seem like frozen or pre packaged low quality products which are imported. I Will never go there again it was a bad choice on my behalf. There are many quality Cafes throughout the CBD to choose from save your money and go elsewhere.
Worst Gloria Jeans we have been to. The person who served me didn't know what a regular mocha is and had to have it explained that a regular mocha is a chocolate mocha as opposed to a white chocolate mocha. The tables are not sanitised between customers. Generally not very friendly staff, and the person who served me barely understood English. The food and drinks were fine though.
Food is nice, but the coffee is basically undrinkable. It's incredibly bitter, with that strong boiled milk taste, and served so hot that you'll be lucky if you don't burn the soles of your feet when you take a sip. Also, get a table outside if you can, they have an oven that has an extremely intrusive alarm on it that goes off every 60 seconds when the item is done being heated up/toasted.
Literally the worst food I've ever eaten. Cold, dry and tasteless. When I asked if it could be heated up a bit, staff member rolled their eyes. Was given a cold coffee to top it off. Tables were dirty and not cleaned. Staff were too busy gossiping to worry about customers it would seem. I'll stick with Banjos.
The lounge chair I used was worn out and not all that comfortable. The decor was sparse, and uninviting. The coffee was so-so. I enjoyed my Cornish Pastie, but my wife found the scones hard and dry, and the carrot cake over-iced and heavy - almost gluey.
Visited with my wife. Same order we always have for the past 15 years. I heard her order. 1 x cap with 1 sugar mine 1 x skim flat white extra hot hers. Pickup up first coffee and handed to her as it wasnt a cappucino. When the next coffee came out also looking like a flat white i asked which one was the cappucino. He said the first one. I saw the second coffee was made on full cream and he admitted it was. I explained my wife had requested skim, he argued the point but i insisted he made it again very begrudgingly. Long story short she left with a skim flat white that was horrible and i got a skim cappucino with a sugar. At this stage i realised they didnt listen and made horrible coffees so i just left.
On the door it says 3:30 close. They refused to sell anything and said they were shut at 3.. not happy. Change your sign. Would have been happy to take away, if nothing else.
