The food was very nice. Fish of the day lemon fish and chips. Nice thick fried fish. The place was very busy. Customer service awesome. Ordered 3 scoop of chips, but looks less. Nice view when you sit outside.

We had the snapper and chips, very fresh fish and enjoyed it simply with vinegar and salt. No cutleries so be careful with your fingers when handling the piping hot fish! Btw, the splash of ketchup was complimentary from the family at the next table :

Food is always fresh and delicious. If you want to try great fish and chips definitely come here. You can also sit outside on the wharf checking out the beautiful skies and water. I would have posted a pic of the food but it got demolished

We have been Gibbos customers for years and have always enjoyed their food and service. Tonight however was just awful. Salt and pepper squid skewers were so dry and overcooked. Expensive fish so thin and over cooked. Young man handling raw fish was seen wiping his hands on his trousers before making our burgers! Staff more focused on their conversation than on the tasks at hand. Really disappointing and $90 for dinner just a waste of money tonight unfortunately.

I haven't had fish n chips in a long time so thought I'd give Gibbo's a try as it was highly recommended to me. Well I was very impressed. Tidy and clean shop with a few tables inside, but they are definitely spoilt with the stunning setting outside looking over the harbour out to Whale Island. Staff were friendly, very generous portion sizes, crispy batter and crispy kumara chips. Never had such nice kumara chips before. Best fish n chips I've ever had. Best part is sitting on bench seats outside enjoying the meal with beautiful view. Highly recommended.
