Geronimo Aperitivo Bar & Restaurant

A great night had a Geronimo’s. We arrived pretty early (5pm on the dot) after a day full of driving, but were seated and able to select from one of quite a good selection of aperitifs and cocktails. Lots of Tasmanian wines and spirits to choose from and helpful wait staff. Food was really delicious. We had a few small share plates and it wasn’t too much. I love being able to taste a few dishes so this worked really well. Try the Apple Pie Old Fashioned cocktail. I’ll be thinking of it for a while

We are visitors and only stay for 1 night here. After we checked in, we walk around nearby and few famous restaurants also full house. We find this restaurant via google map. They can do a table for us, thank you very much! Good services, nice staff, fantastic food, nice beer! Highly recommended!

Have to say in disappointed... We're from Melbourne and stayed in Launceston for a couple of days now. This was recommended as so were others and Geronimo compared to some others in the area doesn't compare. The food was disappointing, the seafood start was nice but the lamb in parts were dry. The biggest let down was the portion sizes. If you call the food larger sharing plates and at 40 bucks they should be enough to feed 2 people. It was far from that. The service was disappointing, it felt like they wanted to move us on for the next booking. 2 stars for the cocktails and the inside decor. Maybe it was an off night for them, I don't know I really wanted to like it.

This was an absolutely fabulous place to grab dinner on my own while I was in town for work. The food, wine, service and everything down to the cloth napkins was excellent. I loved that I could just order one or two oysters on my own, and they were delicious. I also had the squid dish with celeriac and kale. So tasty and the perfect end to a busy work day. I am looking forward to going back with more people to enjoy more of the share plates.

This place is absolutely NOT tapas! A share plate is really just a small main and would certainly not fill even the smallest eater. The interior was lovely and it itself actually set the high expectation for the standard of food. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the food and the portion sizes. I have eaten at many degustation restaurants and am very used to portion sizes in Melbourne, so this should go a long way in telling you that you will need to order a lot more than you think should you eat here!
