With great service and excellent food, The Metz has been a long favourite of mine and friends for multiple occasions. The pizzas have the most freshest and delicious bases Ive had, and we all love the Signature Calamari. The staff are always happy to recommend new Specials and I appreciate their abilities to provide great service even when it gets busy. Thanks Metz!

The Metz used to be a brilliant place to stop and have a bite to eat and drink when in Launceston. With this in mind, we chose to stop by there yesterday for lunch. When we walked inside, the who place smelt like dirty rags and spilt alcohol, akin to an old nightclub. Luckily the sun was out and we bumped into some people we knew who were raving about how good the food was. We decided to give them a try and opted to sit outside with some fresh air. The staff who attended to is were attentive and very friendly. Food arrived with good time and each meal was, although seemingly on the expensive side, extremely tasty and bigger than expected. At this stage, we'd forgotten about the horrid smell inside. When we went to pay, the prices had been marked up by 10%. Initially we thought that it was a service surcharge gratuity automatically added to the bill. Upon questioning, we were told that it was actually a Sunday surcharge. I usually don't mind this of the company is paying their staff full Sunday rates AND when the staff are clear from the time the orders are taken that the surcharge is in place. The fact that ALL staff avoided this topic until questioned turned a lovely lunch into a sour memory. Upfront clarity would have been appreciated.

The vegan pizza is extraordinary. Great selection of wines and very nice service although a little slow in places. A place I would certainly recommend.

Our experience at The Metz in Launceston was great, we ordered the seafood platter for two which was beautiful, all the seafood was done to perfection, even though I was full I couldn’t help finishing it off. Yum! Our waiter was lovely, he was very attentive and helpful and he gave our girls colouring packs to keep them occupied. If we’re ever in Launceston again this will be our regular. Cheers guys.

The food has greatly improved here and finally matches the level of service after several years of a pedestrian menu and poor execution. Compliments to the (newly hired?) chef! Try the cauliflower tacos - they are amazing!
