Passed through just before closing on a Saturday night. Don’t let the exterior put you off from entering and ordering. The food was great. Scoops could have been a little bigger but fish and other sides were tasty. Old school service, with a nice touch of humour. No complaints from staff even though we arrived late. Would definitely go back again.
Amazing fish and chips. They were short staffed so I felt bad for the workers but they still got the food out quickly and I loved my fish and chips. Will definitely head back there.Food: 5/5
Disgusting!!!! I ordered two chicken burgers and a scoop of chips with chicken salt, the burgers were not even real chicken breasts and where made in stale burger buns and very little mayonnaise and where over $10 per burger and they were disgusting, the chips were ruined with far too much chicken salt to the point I could not even eat them, and the full scoop that I got was really a half scoop. Over all the meal for two came to over $25 and was to be honest, disgusting and an absolute rip off.

Food was ok the doughnuts however were rock hard on outside. However the customer service from the older chap was great very friendly.
Superb fresh fish you choose for battering. Really nice chips and down to earth people serving. Not slick and speedy but worth the wait.
Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Stopped by this place on the way to Lake Tekapo, truly a hole in the world.
Chap in the in shop told me to go back to England. I’ve been in nz for 10 years run a business and paid tax and have done community work. People like him give small town nz a bad name. People out side the shop even apologised for his attitude.
Been here a couple of times and always very busy. Great fish and chips.
Great value for money with awesome tasting fish and plenty of old school style chips. Service was cheerful happy and positive. Told us how long it would take to prepare and was ready to the minute. Not many places you can feed a couple with even chips leftover for less than $20 . Unpretentious shop that simply does what it does well without any gimmicks or bells and whistles.
