We got to this place around 5pm for an early dinner which was great. They had tables outside which they sat us at. If you can, make sure they seat you inside at that time cause midgees and mosquito's are around as we got bitten bigtime but I asked to be seated inside and then spent our whole dinner we spent scratching ourselves due to it. I ordered pizza and my wife got a pasta dish. The pizza was beautiful and my wife enjoyed her pasta. The place is about to go through a Reno so the place at present isn't very appealing to the eye. Staff at the bar were nice but our waiter was not very accommodating. He might of been having a bad day. All in all we will go back but after we know the Reno has been completed.
Had such a great night at Roy’s by Gemelli the other night to celebrate my birthday. It was a busy night during the start of January and the staff where amazing. Quick and attentive service, drinks came out after ordering with good speed. We started with a couple of the Wildflower gin and tonic specials and a couple of red wines all very happy with the selections. The four of us like to share our dishes so we started with two bruschetta and an antipasto plate. The bruschetta was very nice and fresh and well balanced and the antipasto plate a hit with a very nice mozzarella and the prosciutto di Parma was the standout. We split a Roy’s special pizza and the prosciutto rocket and Parmesan with the nicely balanced sauce base and that quality mozzarella had everyone saying we would be back again for this one for sure. For mains we had an Melanzane Parmigiana eggplant which was rated well by the person having it, one fish of the day which my wife said was really well cooked and the choice of Vegetables worked nicely barramundi with a good selection of vegetables , a fettuccini marinara and an estate penne. The two pasta dishes rated very highly with myself and the other guest who are seafood lovers, and the pasta cooked to a perfect al dente. Made for a great night out with my wife and closest friends to celebrate my birthday and based on this night out another couple of locals will certainly be returning to Roy’s.
Food was really tasty and fresh. My son who is 4 said the kids Margherita pizza was the “best pizza ever.” My husband had the Salsiccia pasta which was creamy and delicious with Italian sausage, mushroom, cream and garlic. I had the Ragu which was amazing with slow cooked oxtail and pork shin. Would recommend this place for anyone looking for an authentic Italian lunch or dinner.
Bigger doesn’t always mean better… Was very keen to try out the refurbished Roy’s, but unfortunately left very disappointed. Not only did our table have to wait for almost 1 hour for our mains to arrive, but when they did, half of them were pretty average to say the least. The restaurant is VERY noisy and the prices have definitely increased but the quantity/quality isn’t as good. To top it off, we were made to pay for a side order that we didn’t actually order, but had thought we’d been given as a gesture for the long wait for food. Overall a very disappointing $350 birthday dinner.
We came for dinner and had a great meal with yummy cocktails and mock tails. The service was great and very friendly. All the food we had was authentic and delicious and the portions were large. We also had a yummy gelato while we waited for our Uber to arrive. Roy’s came highly recommended to us by a friend and I would gladly also recommend it to my family and friends.
Your food was amazing and wholesome! We went for my mums birthday and she was blown away so much so she would like go back for my birthday. Our waiter was also very lovely and accommodating :
We re-visited Roy's after their renovation and as per earlier visits the service and food quality was exceptional. We are very fortunate to have this local gem on our doorstep. Thanks Roy's for another wonderful family dinner. Kid-friendliness: Staff were very receptive to the children, actively asking them directly what they would like for their dinner.
Absolutely superb food and service, as always at Roy’s … we haven’t been back since the refurbishment, but certainly weren’t at all disappointed. To be perfectly candid, we were just a little concerned, as we were introducing friends for the first time & as can happen on the restaurant scene, when there might be staff and menu changes, the evening, if well promoted, by hosts, can be fraught … certainly, this was not the case & Roy’s now has a yet another group of supporters! Thank you!!
I’m proud to say this is the best and favourite restaurant. Best in the gold coast, everything here is just amazing and the staff are the most kindest people you’ll ever meet. I recommended this place a lot!!
Me and my partner had an amazing experience! We chose the Gorgonzola Gnocchi and it was just perfect, for dessert we had a pistachio and passion fruit gelato we loved it Special thanks to Nicole waitress that made our night with her outstanding service!
