Great quality seafood at a cost. Service is mediocre by the restaurant manager James but the other staff still have a zing for hospitality and provided great service. Lots of seniors around at lunchtime. Good wine selection though the cocktails were average. Complimentary under cover parking underneath. Good location on Caxton St.

Elegant without being pretentious. Food was really good, we had Moreton Bay bugs and seafood pasta. Both were flavourful and cooked properly. The service was prompt and professional. Will return if I happen to be in Brisbane again.

I was really looking forward to eating at Gambaros for the first time. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed, as it is overpriced and the quality of the fish is the same or similar to my local fish and chips store. You are paying $39 for 2 small pieces of crumbed Snapper, with no sides included (not even  chips). The Snapper was from the NT and the flathead from SA, so given the distance to travel, I suspect it would have had to be frozen. If you purport to be a seafood restaurant and charge the prices they charge then your fish and other seafood should be fresh off the trawler or local fish market, not imported from interstate.
Reputation is one thing, but you have to back it up with good quality food, service and atmosphere, which was lacking.

First time at this establishment, very nice service, fantastic, good portions, beautiful presentation but... some details need tuning.  Perhaps, attention to detail!? Not sure!? If you charged over$400, you would expect perfection and it was not perfect. Rather humiliating in fact.
