Over priced cafe with inattentive wait staff and mediocre food. This is an upsetting opening to my review of this cafe as Gallery used to be great - I have no idea what has happened. On my last visit the Coffee was luke warm and weak and my $19 mushroom omelette was dry, very small and totally tasteless. Ate only half of it and when I told staff of my dissatisfaction all I got was a '"Sorry about that." The visit before wasn't much better with a long wait to get served and a disappointing meal. My advice; change your chef and retrain, and maybe learn to retain your staff as the staff turnover seems pretty high.
I have dined here 5 times in last 3 months with my daughters and I find it really lovely. Good wait staff, nice decor, can get really busy, I always get a booth table when requested. The food is delicious- I would recommend the soft shell crab salad. Absolutely delicious. Good kids menu. Family friendly. Will keep coming back.
The initial entrance looks quite inviting and I had been here before with a friend, so thought I would have a late lunch. SERVICE Took some time to come to my table to take an order. The waiter seemed more intent in chatting up some young girls than serving a Dad with his young daughter or myself. One of the staff members from the kitchen came out to see what else I might like, when the young male waiter was too busy flirting with young customers at the other tables. FOOD + DRINK Delicious Tried the mushroom risotto and a delicious non-alcoholic cocktail ATMOSPHERE Overall, a nice cafe. NOTE The bench seats along the side wall into the shopping foyer are pretty close to the tables and the bench seats quite high from the floor. The free standing seats / table were more comfortable. .
Been here twice and both times the food and the staff have been wonderful. We had sandwiches yesterday and the bread was baked fresh, which made an exceptional sandwich! The coffee was amazing and staff were friendly and fast. Will definitely go back just for the food!
Disorganised staff, a long wait followed by being asked to order drinks by three staff, then asked multiple times for our food order. The food came in a reasonable time but we got rock hard avocados today and sent one meal back. The rest of the food was nice and at least the staff allowed us to choose another meal.
Disorganised staff - asked three times for our drink order but not given a menu. Food not good - ordered avocado on toast and got two dry pieces of toast nice bread though with two halves of a very underripe, hard and tasteless avocado sitting on top-not smashed, just lightly sliced with a wedge of lemon on the side. Coffee ok, but my flat white note milky than coffee in flavour. Terrible value. They did swap it for banana bread when asked, but very disappointing all round. This is the third time we've given this place a chance hoping it would improve. We won't be back again.
VERY DISAPPOINTED AND LET DOWN. My first experience at Gallery One today to take my heavily pregnant friend and her 2 year old for high tea. We placed order and waited over 1/2 hour with no response, when we asked where our drinks were we were told it takes 20 minutes to get the high tea ready. The couple on the next table who had come after us but also were waiting and asked about their order of lunch. It appears the waitress forgot to place our orders. She had gone on her break. They asked if they would get priority in the kitchen if they reordered their lunch and that was met with a non committed response. Needing something we reordered our coffees. I asked to see the manager and explained the situation, he has nothing to say but sorry, no offer of a swift order or discount. The waiter got our coffees in about 10 minutes, and we left not long after all up the experience was an hour having to pay full price for our coffees. APPALLING AND DISAPPOINTING !!!
Had a breakfast and enquired whether the scrambled egg would be made in a microwave because I hate them....was assured that they had chefs and they cooked properly...I also don't eat grains so they changed the breakfast for me and allowed me to choose what I fancied. ...eggs bacon and avocado yummo...they didn't give me the dish for the same price as the one with toast instead of avo but I understood that the avocado was more pricey and was willing to pay.It was delicious and the staff very accomodating
Omg the cakes here are amazingcan't walk past this place without grabbing a coffee and cake every time we shop hehe.
If I could give no stars I would..told staff they would have no job the next day, no warning at all, just 'don't come tomorrow'. Store is now boarded up. Not good messing with the lives of the12 people who worked for you Tony. They have lives and families and bills to pay and if you cared about them like you always said you did, you would have given them some notice so they had the option of keeping food on their own families tables!! ..and right before Xmas!! ..
