Fyshwick Market Pet Shop formerly known as Powels Pet Shop 1988-1999 & Susan's Pet's 1978-1987

One of the longest running privately owned pet shops in the ACT.

My husband and I brought all our young children in to get a pet fish and the owner was most welcoming and helpful. He explained everything so clearly and took so much time answering our questions. It made it a really pleasant experience and we definitely will come back. I so appreciate a personable, small business vs. these huge warehouse pet shops!

We just went in there and bought  2 little birds. The shop keeper  was lovely to us . And actually we were burying birds because the bird we bought   from him 7 years ago died. He was just lovely to my boys and I  he was helpful and answered pur questions  thank you ever so much we are all very happy.

Staff and owner don't seem to care about the quality of products or service. Great shop if you like mouldy pet food and mistreated animals. There are plenty of quality pet stores in Canberra, so definitely give this one a skip...

It is always a pleasure to come to this beautiful market but always be ready with how deep is your pocket since you cannot resist the fresh goodies they are selling from veggies , fruits, fish , all kinds of fresh meat and of course all the Asian goodies from T& E Asian Grocery Store!

Owner just sits at his desk and doesn’t want to help and the animals are not taken care of properly and I even saw a sick bird at the bottom of the cage when it should be in a vet! Never coming back again!

Had a terrible experience there, the birds are not cared properly for and some at the bottom of the cage sick. Owner doesn’t seem bothered at all.

Rudest but ever. Also no pets just cages. No fish just plants.

Animals looked very unhealthy and are kept at the bare minimum and the owner wasn’t nice and asked me to do research when I asked a question about the fish.

Rude owner and large rabbits in small cages. This place is terrible.

The store owner is so rude and doesn’t seem to know what he’s talking about and isn’t very welcoming and seems to not want to talk to you at all.
