Disgusting, discriminating owners . Refused entry to this essential service - the only supermarket in town, because I didn’t have a mask, even though have my original mask exemption documents, with my name, and valid photo ID , against what their door states, This is against the Law, and absolutely disgusting. Police, ministry of health have both been notified. Would not recommend visiting- the owner male was extremely rude, and not empathetic. Refused to even sight my documents proving my exemption and ID.
I will never step foot in there again. Discrimination at its finest. The owner refused to let me in even though I have a medical exemption. This is an essential service and against the law to refuse people. The ministry of health and police have been notified. Disgusting behavior from the owner.
My husband refused service here despite a valid governmental exemption from wearing a mask. We used to shop here regularly. They have lost our business and respect. We will spread this flagrant display of discrimination and ignorance far and wide.
stopped here to get my sons a treat after visiting the lighthouse. was refused entry due to not having a mask. I am medically exempt from wearing one and had the exemption on. being the only supermarket in Hampden I feel sorry for any locals who are exempt and can't travel. Must make their shopping very difficult. discrimination and illegal.
Was refused entry as I didn't have a mask, although I had my exemption out ready. When I went to show the exemption I was told "no, that won't work here, get out". There was no reasoning, conversation or customer service here. I could've purchased a mask for $1.50 but I was not allowed in with an exemption. Being a small town, you'd think they'd welcome anyone trying to come and support them but apparently not. Clearly they are unaware of the law and don't need people's money to survive like many other places. I won't ever bother stopping by again. Disgustingly rude and misinformed service.
Manager refused entry to my wife who had a NZ Government mask exemption. He doesn't know the science nor the law. Wouldn't recommend supporting those who further discriminate and divide.
Stunning ice creams on the cone ! A single scoop is huge
I am not a fan of Four Square. This is a well presented store. Staff were friendly on the day. Parking on site. Handy store for the camp grounds. This is a well stocked store. I liked the fresh bread and bakery selection of slices, cakes and pies. There is a handy alcohol section. Meat on the day was sparse. The next day there were no bread products in the store - 5.30pm. Was advised they were expecting a delivery in an hour or so. Which was good to know but not helpful for me. Ice creams were a winner. The vegetables - did not look good - so they were left alone. Neat and tidy. I do find Four Square pricey.
Just the best, I can't have an ice cream anymore as I am now a diabetic, however they have the biggest and best ice creams and they DON'T charge 10 % extra on a public holiday. So stop there as a well known shop further south charges 10% on everything in the shop.
Well stocked with great staff. A gem if your staying local for the items you might need, a little pricey but its the only local. Clean with lots of choice. Has lotto and the best ice creams!
