Nice store, and presentation of food is great, but the checkout process....Everyone is lovely, but there isn't enough staff, EVER. Where is the manager to fix this? Why do the checkout operators leave mid-way through transactions to go on breaks... I've had a girl tell me it's a change in rules, but to be honest, it's not a good change. The workers seem stressed and run off their feet all the time. It doesn't need to be like this. Lily and Ally-May, I think her name was, served me a while back, we had a great conversation, and they were both lovely.
Once again in the queue at Centre City New World on a busy Saturday morning and there at 6 checkout lanes going with only 2 packers. If I wanted to pack my own groceries I'd go to PacknSave.
Used to be my go to supermarket in Dunedin not that we have much choice but has been getting worse and worse over the last 12 months or so.nnSo often out of stock on many items with few or no alternatives, dropping ranges they have carried for years that are still available, having staff stocking shelves with big trolleys of boxes during busy hours where its already crowded, fewer and fewer varieties of fresh meat available, and often in inconvenient packaging sizes, and now they've extended the self checkouts barely any staff working the actual checkouts not to mention staff closing a checkout with multiple people in line.nnMultiple times recently have had to visit a second supermarket to finish our shop.
The meat department in New world in the city are so helpful,but i have 1 question.Could you come up with a more customer friendly trays for the chicken mignons.They are plastic wrapped at the moment but on seperating at home, all the filling come out of mignon and is squashed on plastic wrap.
Rude and arrogant self checkout male staff on 18/6/25. If staffs are unfriendly, rude and arrogant they should be in back stores and not interacting with customers. Its disgusting the way customers are treated. Customer service is a big ZERO! Otherwise the whole store is clean, massive and easy to find products.
