Lovely warm summer waters with a view of the majestic mountains. We visited in January. There is a water/swim area that is roped off to keep out the “stingers” as they’re known here in Australia. Back home we call them jellyfish but they may be related in some way. Also, there are lifeguards which is great for children and all of us. Beach chairs/umbrellas to rent. A lovely place.
Beautiful wide sandy beach from the shore line to the tree line. Tropical rainforest beach with stinger nets and surf patrols.
5 stars for finally a beach with good stinger nets. The beach is breathtaking as well but now you can go bathing all year long!
Four Mile Beach has it all! As a popular advertising jingle about a luxury resort down the road once claimed, this place is "too good to be true"! :- Soak up the sun, enjoy a book or just watch people making the most of this tranquil and very special location. Part of the beach is patrolled so you are in safe hands if you swim between the flags. You could easily spend quite a few hours here. There is a nearby lookout to take in the spectacular scenery from a higher vantage point. Definitely worth a visit when you are in Port Douglas! Here are some photos from our most recent visit.
Beautiful beach. Swimming and bathing is restricted to only one place due to stingers and crocodiles - there's a protective net there.
Such a beautiful place with warm water, and all the safety warnings to keep you and your loved ones safe, fresh water and toilets facilities a good place to spend time with family and friends
It's a short stretch of beach with very handy facilities nearby BBQ, toilets, workout equipment and Flagstaff Hill walking trail. The views are gorgeous too!
One of the nicest beaches of the region were you’re allowed to swim! Water is warm even during “winter” and even though it can get crowded between the flags you have life savers and shades! You can also find nice naturally shaded spots if you walk a bit further.. you have 4miles!
Nice broad long beach. The sand is hard packed and there's not much tilt, so it is great for running. No dogs are allowed. The water appears to be dirty, probably because of the shallow sandy area near the beach. It is not populated by shops and hotels along the edge. This provides more natural beauty. Definitely worth another visit.
Beautiful beach. We came in early January and the water was like bath water. They also have a netted section that protects you from jelly fish, etc., that can sometimes show up. No rocks or other nasty stuff in the netted area either. Park has everything you could need, including a barbecue area. Beach was fairly quiet when we visited - only about 50 people on it. We had room to spread out.
