The largest hunger relief agency in South Australia. We source food from the food industry and make it available to welfare agencies and people in need.

Story

Foodbank SA sources food from South Australian and interstate food processors and suppliers. The food is edible, yet often unsaleable for a variety of reasons such as incorrect labeling, close to 'best before' date or damaged packaging. Foodbank SA carefully sorts the food at its Distribution Centre and stores it briefly until collection by member community support agencies. The agencies distribute the food as food parcels or prepared meals to people experiencing hardship.
