45 minute wait for average food and bad customer service would not recommend. We ordered 2 fish and 4 chips, salad and salt & pepper squid with an empty restaurant and we’re told “20 minute wait” after 25 minutes we asked how much longer and the waitress told us 20 minutes was only for the first order and argued against us and said it was half finished. This should have been a red flag and we should have put our foot down and asked for a refund but we waited another 10 and asked again and we’re told it’s being bagged now, 45 minutes in total later the food was brought out all separately with no apology. Appalling customer service and attitude and over cooked chips, I’m not usually one to write a bad review having worked in hospitality myself but that fact that we said something to their faces makes me have to do this. Save your time and go to coogee bay road.
Was part of a group who ordered here a week ago. We received cold soggy food which was extremely late. When we called the staff were extremely rude. I have never ever been treated this poorly at any venue before. The owner then called one of the people whom placed an order that night every day for four days asking for the reviews to be removed. The owner of the venue only became interested when he noticed people involved in this incidence were making reviews. He was not at all concerned about contacting us in relation to how rude his staff were, how late the food was or how cold it was. The owner said only a voucher could be given and only if all the negative reviews were taken down first. Be careful of this place, extremely rude staff who are only nice when they want a review taken down and try to bribe their way out of people knowing how bad this place is!! Edit: The owner tries to bully people so they only have good reviews! Calling up and telling me he is seeking legal action because apparently his business is being defamed when reviews write what occured.
Wish I could give this restaruant zero star. Came in at 6pm with 3 friends and tried to order salmon from the menu. The lady rudely stated that they did not have it without giving a reason why. Same thing happened again when I tried to order the flathead. Ended up ordering something else for takeaway and was told it would take 15-20 minutes. Apart from us there was only one other family in the shop that were dining who arrived after us. After 25 minutes, the lady came out to give the other table some of their food. We asked how much longer it might be and the lady rudely said “we are flat out we are only halfway done”. We asked why she said it would be 20 minutes and she said “that was before I got the second order” and then went back into the kitchen with no apology. What kind of business is not equipped for having any more than 4 people in their restaurant? We continued to wait another 20 minutes for our food which was brought out by her husband she clearly did not want to face us again with no apology. The owners are extremely rude and the food was extremely average for such a ridiculously long wait. I highly recommend going somewhere else for much quicker and better food.
SENSATIONAL fish & chips in Coogee/Clovelly area .. prices are excellent too! My husband always gets the battered fish & chips, I buy the grilled fish & chips ... & even better that the delicious chips are Gluten Free cooked in own oil as I have Coeliac. Always really nice and they do home delivery, thank you... from a local, Therese
Delicious fish and chips. Wanted to try these guys after reading reviews and see for ourselves. Our food arrived hot, quality fish and really good chips. Didn’t taste oily or unhealthy. Would eat here again. Recommend trying.
We had our annual conference in Coogee in February and I organised fish and chips for 27 people on the beach. The staff at Fishermans Paradise were great to deal with in the week before our event. We preordered and they delivered everything down to the beach for us. Everyone had their own individual box of food, a drink and even a selection of sauces. All 27 of us were happy with the delicious food and the potato scallops were voted best ever by quite a few of us. I would certainly go back if I was in Coogee Beach again.
Been here long time ago, the place has changed and has a good ambience now but we did a take away. their grilled barramundi was the best, portion sizes were good and kids loved the chips with chicken salt. One suggestion will be to add desserts to their takeaway menu, other than that will definitely be back when we visit again from the US!!!
How is recording a call blackmail? I told you numerous times everyone at this venue kept changing their story so I recorded the calls so I have the truth. This is not blackmail, this is because you guys couldn’t stop changing what happened? Even yourself, you know I was happy to not get a refund, I was upset with how poorly your staff treated me. I never instited on a refund. You obviously aren’t to good with technology... the reviews you just mentioned are 6 hours apart not minutes like you mention.. and as we spoke about on the phone and confirmed I did not ever say I ordered previously with Menulog, I said I had your food before. Nice to see where the staff get their changing of what happened attitude from. Edit- hmm I have a new post because I took down my old post because you tried to bribe all the bad reviews away. You would not compensate such cold late food unless all the bad reviews were gone because god forbid people know how bad the service and food was. There are so many bad reviews because as you KNOW It was a group. Everyone who commented was involved. Which you KNEW. Don’t try blame it on “bogus reviews” how about your sudden good reviews when you haven’t had a single good review in months. Also you did not offer me to simply dine in. You refused to do ANYTHING unless all the reviews about your poor service were removed. That is not doing anything.... Also your bad reviews are not from a year ago, there’s one from early April on Menulog? And many more... And please don’t tell more mistruths about the delay in time... it was not 15.. as with every other review you have had on Menulog with your food being late it is much more than 15 minutes... and as all the Menulog reviews say it was not hot, the driver did not check it. Also you do realise how you are discrediting your own business by constantly replying with lies... what happened to the legal action? Caught out in a few too many lies are we? You guys are a joke... as you know I record all the conversation... so clearly I have the conversations with you calling me 6 times on Friday for the reviews to be taken down... and every other day before that... there was no exploiting from me I didn’t want your voucher after I realised how pathetic it was to be blackmailed into removing reviews. Also it funny your say the line went blank yet the manager said in a recorded phone call, “oh no she was hanging up to speak to me” can you tell a story straight.... Oh and yes you did make more than 10 calls actually. harrasing me to take down the bad reviews!!! Funny how they stopped as soon I told Menulog what you were doing. I ordered with a group of people here a week ago. Everyone was disappointed with the customer service and food. Food was cold and soggy as well as being extremely late. Upon writing my previous review the owner called me and told me the only thing they could do was give me a voucher IF I took my review down. Considering the staff asked if they should hang up on us, then did, told us to microwave the food they just delivered and were exemely rude for no reason... I would have thought there would be compensation without the owner trying to bribe me to make their venue appear better. The owner did not follow through with giving me a voucher for the stone cold food I received and appalling customer service, as he wanted all negative reviews posted from the group of people removed. If you want accurate review where the venue can’t make fake reviews and accounts suddenly all these good reviews appear after no one has reviewed them for a month LOL- read the Menulog reviews. Cold, soggy and extremely late food!!

The did not want to accept my reverse international charged call. I wonder why it came late? Do you think it’s becuase I live in the Phillipines and the flight carrying my food was late? I’m rating 5 out 5 because I did get my food.
In response to your reply, do not involve me in your lies. I was there for the phone calls and have also listened to them again, very clear from the get go all were happy to not have a refund. You made it very clear there would be no refund, we accepted that. You then tried to bully us into removing reviews of our poor experience. Our updates are from every time you replied to us with more ramble and mistruths. There were a large group of us involved, you have actually spoken to me several tines, including the time you said you were going to take legal action on Friday so it does involve other people as we all experienced this horrible experience. Ordered through menulog and food came two hours late. Food was completely cold and chips all soggy. When I called them and told them I was told "can't you just microwave it" by one of the staff who answered the phone. She also then said to another worker "should I hang up on them" and then hung up the phone on me. When I called back she rudely said to me "do you want to continue this conversation". I've been in contact with menulog who told me the store would contact me about it. It has been a few days and still no contact from the store. I have called the store numerous times and been told the manager would call me to no avail.
