Story

CHB Restaurant serves a sumptuous full buffet breakfast, all day dining snack menu for lunch and in the evening, the “Fire & Ice” Seafood Dinner Menu.

The Fire & Ice Dinner is an innovative concept mixing the style of a la carte dining with traditional buffet. Diners select from a choice of freshly prepared meats, poultry, fish and seafood that are then cooked on the flame grill, right in front of you and exactly the way you like it!

The variety and choices on the buffet is extensive and the dessert and cheese selections are deliciously tempting!

CHB Bar is the ideal place to relax and have fun over a drink with friends where you can either enjoy the cool atmosphere inside, the warm tropical weather on the Terrace or take advantage of the great swim up bar; the best way to stay cool while enjoying the tropics in Cairns!

I had a fish dish, I was a wee bit disappointed at the size, BUT the fish was cooked to perfection. All in all it was a very good meal and good service, the 2 staff member I saw were quite busy, but managed very well... would eat there again if I am staying in the Rydges. Highly recommend.
Wonderful, leisurely dinner off the a la carte menu with a fantastic Margaret River Chardonnay. Very busy, but the service was great.

we stayed at the Rydges and had breakfast daily which was pretty good and one buffet dinner. the dinner was a little disappointing, with some quite average food but a few options. i don't think it's good value unless you like oysters.
Beatiful food and great service
Fire and ice Seafood night is nice enough - you can eat as much as you like and have calamari, prawns, Reef fish and steakettes cooked for you. There's no other seafood apart from prawns, oysters, mussels, Reef fish and smoked salmon, though. There are a couple of curries and salad things. Service is pretty good though.
Breakfast is decent, but pricey for what you get. Would love to see a bigger variety of options available. The didn't even have mushrooms or scrambled eggs available last time we went. Freshly made omelettes were good, though.
Perfect setting
Eaten at CHB three times over two days. Staff were courteous and efficient. Food was fair to good - fresh and consistent - but nothing to write home about. Nice cocktails and some nice selections of wine.
