I'm here in this full service department store because I planned to do laundry but really wasn't feeling up to it and the equivalent of Walmart cheap! is closed for refurbishing. So let's buy a few days of outfits instead! This store is similar to a Macy's or Dillard's back in the States. Cosmetics, ladies wear, shows, kitchen wear, boy's and girl's departments and I managed to find men's wear without too much trouble.nnI loaded up with some tshirts, socks, undies and brought it to one of the casheiers who rang it up for a total of NZ$125, which is about US$70. I carried it all back to the hotel, laid it out and then changed my mind. This is too much money and I don't have room for it in the suitcase. So yes, I found a laundromat instead.nnFirst thing in the morning, I was back in the shop. A different cashier rang up my return and I was back in business. Super easy and no problem since it was all still in its packaging.
It's ok... If you're from Australia, it's like a mix between Target and Myer, but heaps smaller and more cramped. Staff don't seem all that interested in being there or helping you, but I was happy to browse on my own anyway. The prices are a bit expensive for what it is but everything in NZ is expensive at the moment. Definitely wait for a sale, don't buy anything at full price. The best thing about Farmers is that it's located in an area with heaps of other shops.
HORRIBLE! I am a regular customer to farmers although this was my first time at this location and as soon as I entered 3 different workers were following me around the makeup section keeping an eye on me as if I was a thief!! Looking at my clothes up and down with cheeky attitude in a very discriminating way! They had asked me 3 times do I need help and did not get the hint that I am fine! when they were out of stock of my benefit foundation she had pointed to the cheaper makeup brands as if I can’t afford benefit? I wanted to leave as soon as possible as this was causing me anxiety! I don’t know why their staff are always so discriminating and rude holding themselves on some high pedestal, I’m sure you only make 60k a year this is disgusting you are equal to everyone else! And should not judge anyone this is not high school! I ended upnspending $100 on Bobbie brown as I desperately needed a new foundation even though I didn’t want it I just wanted to leave without them thinking I am a thief !
The Jo Malone range has limited stock but you can order online. Staff are friendly and helpful and made me feel very welcomed. Early stroll to get there, located on Lambton Quay.
I went into farmers with my friends around 1pm to get some new skin and hair care with a voucher we had, while just browsing and getting ready to pay an older worker with gray white hair was following us and kept accusing us of stealing, i do understand the need to make sure people aren’t stealing but to be following us around and questioning us left us very uncomfortable and we only ended up getting one item then leaving. Wasn’t a great experience and made us extremely uncomfortable.
