When you have a craving for top notch fish and chips then Eltham Grill House is the place to go. So far the best in the area I have tried, the batter on fish is superb, crispy, tasty and not too oily either. Not only do they do great F&Cs, but they're also a grill house serving very delicious grilled fish and meats. The lamb on the combination grill is a must try as it was delicious and very tender. Really good portion sizes and great value for money. The staff are very friendly and efficient and if dining in, the restaurant is a lovely place to be, modern, clean and vibrant. Definitely know one of my favourite local restuarants.
Absolutely loved the food.. great quality and plenty of it, just look at the photos for yourself, unless you're super fussy, you won't be disappointed. The best eatery in the whole of Eltham as far as I'm concerned.Food: 5/5
I can’t express how amazing this restaurant is. First of all, the food is ALWAYS cooked fresh, the fish, chips, sausage in batter - the lot. The fish is sourced carefully from billings gate market so there is no frozen fish cooked. All the food they cook is always fresh never frozen, so the quality is amazing. The staff are amazing, Barry and his team are always kind and polite and provide the best service in the restaurant and in the take away. My Nan introduced me to this restaurant 4 years ago and I’ve made so many memories with her here, she sadly passed away recently but I’m lucky that I can go back to this restaurant with all the memories I have with her. Me and my partner go here at least once a month recently through take away because of lockdown but there is no where else I would rather go. The price for the fish is slightly higher than most places but it’s money well spent as you are paying for fresh high quality food. All of the other food is around the same price as other places but again, the quality is a lot better than other place. Thankyou Barry and your team for providing Eltham with a great restaurant.
Used to love this place but unfortunately gone a little down hill especially on last visit. Came here when I was a kid over 35 years ago and loved the quality of food and service. The usual friendly waiter does not appear as often which is a shame as he makes such a big difference and unfortunately today experience was a bit off putting. Took us a while to get served and had to ask if we could order. Waitress tells us give her a minute then comes over and asks if we are ready to order but could only order cod food was slightly over cooked and fish was a bit watery as seems frozen. When the bill came I noticed was charged for battered sausage and chips when ordered just the sausage which specified twice to just add to fish and chips. I wouldn’t have minded but waitress tried to style it out and said she put extra chips with the fish and chips when clearly it was same as had ordered fish and chips twice I’m no Del Boy but come on don’t try that one. Might have just been a one off but unfortunately won’t be coming back which is a shame as has been a favourite for so long.
Takeaway fish and chips are on a different level way above any where else that I have had fish and chips. Excellent couldn't fault it and the staff are friendly and accommodating. All freshly cooked in front of you.Food: 5/5
Food took ages to come out. People next to us had there's and ate and went and we were still waiting. eventually it came out. My husbands rock and chips were lovely, but my salmon was over cooked. Need more staff because they were so busy to even ask a question or want anything else. Not the experience I wanted. Would order a fish and chip take away from them.
Surprised at the choices on the menu really good choice for anyone. All freshly cooked good generous size portions. Kept very clean and tidy. Only downside was a single toilet for all to share. I will be going back again.Food: 4/5
Great place…. I took a lovely pic of the man with my dogs and something was missing from my order when I got home, as I distracted the man with my dogs . The man delivered the item personally with extra. Food was amazing .
Was looking for a new fish and chips to try and came across this hidden gem. How i did not discover this place before.upon arriving we were greeted by a friendly guy named Barry , lovely ,friendly and very welcoming , these guys have a passion for what they do and it shows in the quality of not only there food but also their customer service , only thing I cannot comment on is consistency as it’s my first time eating here however I will definitely be visiting Barry and the team again at the Eltham grill house huge thanks
