Great balance between affordability and quality. Food is authentic and brought to your table as soon as prepared (a great custom, unlike most places). Decor is average, but I think it makes the place easier to be in, as opposed to overly pricey restaurants which leave you feeling under-dressed or out of place. Have been here many times and have never felt what these 1 star people have felt. Best JP restaurant in Hamilton.

Highly recommend this restaurant! Very nice food and good environment、最高です(о´∀`о) Btw, I wanna tell the dude who gave bad comments below. As an Asian, one of food values in our culture is: serving the food asap when the food is just made because the chef wants customer can enjoy the best taste (the most fresh moment) of the food. And I guess you are more unhappy about the atmosphere. Especially if you are going to a restaurant with families, it is not happy to see other people having their food in front of you and you are still waiting. In this case, both chef and customers need to understand each other. When there're too many customers at the same time, it is understandable that the chef wishes customers can have fresh made food with the best taste. In short, don't easily say no or give a bad comment to a restaurant which is from another culture. All we need is to understand and have more efficient communication with each other, don't we?:)

Went there to eat on Saturday March 10 just because the night market was closed and that’s the closest one. We ordered and asked our appetisers and mains to be served all together but they end up serving it one at a time, even 5 minutes apart per meal. They even forgot one order and we’re done eating. After we ate I told all about this to the cashier/same server and said they cannot serve all at once because the other food will be cold and the last main meal takes too long to prepare. I don’t understand why she thinks that’s a proper response to reason out because she could’ve told us that in the first place that they cannot do it or they could’ve just prepared all at the same time. We were expecting but they made us wait for so long. The worse part is she didn’t even apologise. Worst service ever because of this we are never coming back again. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Good place - don't be deceived by the unfortunate beige exterior of Kmart. Really lovely inside. Edamame were really good, miso soup was really nice and the teriyaki salmon was great with quite a large portion size.

Ignore the five star reviews, Edo is just average OK. The menu seems vast and it promises a lot but doesn’t deliver. It’s not bad, the nigiri was OK, the tempura prawn rolls tasted pre-prepared (and sold per individual piece?!?) rather than freshly made (as 4-6 pieces). Even the rice was meh. I’m sure there’s better food on the menu, but there are better Japanese restaurants in Hamilton.
