My partner just moved into the neighbourhood so I stopped in today for a coffee and a toastie. Lovely staff, and it's such a cute little shop with a great mix of staples and more eclectic produce. Love the art you're selling too. Will be back for sure!
What a lovely little shop - old fashioned in a good way, with old fashioned service with a smile. Excellent range of products, including wine, and gourmet groceries. Definitely worth having a look, especially if you are a local!
The place to come for that little bit of everything. On a different route to work I found this glorious little place and if I’d had more time I would’ve stopped for a cuppa. Nestled in leafy East Melbourne, this is an old time store that stocks just about everything you do need and might need. Wine seems to be popular here but also Turkish delight, croissants, frozen food, vegemite, dry cleaning, teabags, next to, fresh bread, feather dusters and pretty much most things. The lovely Carly chatted to me about the place that has been here for nearly 30 years and has a regular, local following. Two large couches out the front surrounded by books and toys invite you onto the covered area, with succulents and plants giving it a homely feel - as though you’re sitting with a neighbour on their front porch. It is a place that you can only appreciate if you visit so hop along and check it out. Will take many of you back down memory lane.
Yet another lovely relaxed impromptu Ham/Cheese/Tomato toastie with grain mustard, and a coffee today. We are so lucky to have this unique friendly cafe/providore in our midst. Lisette and the staff are always cheery and helpful. They stock great bread, but you have to know which day your favourite comes in to get it while it lasts! Another reason I love East Melbourne.
I'm not sure why I got a different experience to other people by the looks of the reviews, but the manager/owner Lisette was curt and rude. Avoid unless you enjoy painful Karen energy. The rest of the staff were lovely so it was a disappointing experience.
Great place to have a good coffee and a super friendly service
Exceptional service and have the country feel to it. Exceptional Portuguese custard tarts, even better than the ones I have tried in Portugal or anywhere else for that matter! One of the best coffees in the area too. Very touched and glad to have them so close.
This is a wonderful little gem in East Melbourne. We just moved into the area recently and we are so glad we came across it! The coffee is always great and we love getting a fresh roll or sandwich. Staff are always so friendly and smiley. Thank you!
Don’t know what’s wrong with Harry Hunter, because there is absolutely nothing wrong with our beloved EMGS, Lisette or the coffee. We love plonking down on the couch with a toastie and a cappuccino. The staff are very friendly. Audrey is just wonderful. A great providore with fine and often rare products on offer.
A great little local shop with good produce, unique gifts and goods, and you can sit out on the verandah with a coffee and fresh pastry. Lovely find.
