A beautiful, peaceful refuge amongst the busy inner suburbs, run by beautiful, friendly volunteers. The E-Vam Institute was originally setup by the late Traleg Rinpoche, a Tibetan buddhist monk. The institute offers a variety of free and paid Buddhism and meditation sessions, workshops, and retreats. I've been to a few of the free Thursday night under-35s meditation workshops and I am totally in love with this place. It's a beautiful venue, with wood floors, orange walls, and various golden and traditional Tibetan statues and adornments. I feel instantly at peace as soon as I step in. The volunteers are lovely people. It also hosts a very well stocked Tibetan book shop. I highly recommend visiting the centre, which I believe runs 7 days a week in various capacity.
