I had a minor skin problem on my face and saw Dr Artemi twice and he just prescribed me steroid cream, steroid tablets, antibiotics and some sort of compound to apply on the affected area, without any diagnosis. I told him that my skin is very sensitive and requested he do allergy test as I was using chapstick to moisturise my lips. He just ignored it and the prescribed medication made my skin problem much worse. Needless to say, the cream changed the colour of my skin around my lips, which he would have known. Later on Dr Artemi wanted to do a biopsy on my lips so you can imagine the scar it would have left, apart from my already discoloured skin. Thank god I never went back to him. Another specialist, Dr Kate O'Connor cut a piece of my chapstick and taped it on my back and I had an allergic reaction to it. I stopped all unnecessary medication, not to mention all the money I had wastedstopped using chapstick and my lips went back to normal, but the skin around my lips is completely another colour. I am so embarrassed about my face, completely ruined and I lost my self-confidence. Steroid creams should never be used on face, I learnt the hard way. From my bad experience, I agree Dr Artemi does not want to listen to his patients and does whatever he wants. I felt that I was just a number. Would not recommend to see Dr Artemi if you have skin problem on your face.
I went to Dr Artemi in 2015 for acne, and at the time i was on anti depressants and anti anxiety medication. He was told CLEARLY. That my depression gets the best of me and I occasionally feel suicidal but have never acted on it. He put me on Oratane for 2 years regardless of knowing the severity of my depression. And after that i was in the hospital for a suicide attempt every month for the whole period i was on the medication. I even went back to him in regards to a new self harm scar and told that it was caused by an attempt u made while on the medication and it almost cost me my life. It wasn’t until my mum and i did out research that we realised that it was the accutane that caused this shift and not ONCE did he bother to notify me of this or stop the medication even when he knew i almost died when i came in to treat a scar. This kind of negligence is appalling. He should have taken this, more seriously considering that I quite literally could have lost my life due to medication that wasn’t suitable for me. And it wasn’t until i stopped the medication that all the suicidal thoughts ceased. Medical professionals should take more care when they treat patients and specially put them on medications that are known to cause mental health and suicidal concerns specifically when someone is already exposed and on medication to treat that. It is SO NEGLIGENT. I even contacted them to let them know how disappointed i was and got no response. It is legally their job to notify patients of side effects and interactions specially in this case! But i didn’t even get sent the booklet that was promised to be posted to my house! This is so shocking.
Good doctor but beyond overpriced. Forces you to come see him to get a prescription renewed, so in seeing him you have to pay him over $250 just for him to see you for 4 minutes and write a prescription. Scam artist
DISCRIMINATORY AND UTTERLY RUDE! The staff were rude and loud. No sense of confidentiality; I literally knew what the previous patient was dealing with because the receptionists were loudly discussing it and the Dr voiced it out in front of me. Dr Artemi was so arrogant; he failed to listen to my concerns, called me silly, mocked me, and told me to leave his office for simply requesting an alternative to steroid creams. He shamed me for my personal decision, and made me feel inadequate. The staff's receptionist and doctor attitude and treatment was so uncalled for. Would never recommend this place to anyone! You're better off going with someone who is far more professional, caring and experienced than Dr Artemi.
Dr Artemi is a fantastic Dr, his bedside manners are exceptional he made me feel completely at ease and explained thoroughly about my situation and treatment. His nurse Danielle was lovely and all the staff were friendly and attentive, I would recommend this fantastic Dr to anyone.
Closes over Chrisdtmas break fair enough, but I have an appointment and need to cancel but they are closed till the 10th of Jan 2022, my appointment is on the 11th, when its their fault for not having any way to notify them. Guess they will try to bill me for having to cancel. Funny thing is their wedsite has errors so I am unable to email or leave a message.
Dr Artemi, as far as I'm concerned has a great bedside manner, I have been to many Specialist that take your $ for not much of a result and 15min out the door. What you are given here is an answer to our concerns. My three boys had acne and all three times their skin came up beautifully. Our first consult with him would probably be 15years ago. As far as the reception staff, I have never encountered an issue with, friendly with great customer service.
Dr Artemi has definitely helped me with my skin problems and his service is decent. However in saying so, on numerous accounts his receptionists need to be taught better manners. They are blunt and and socially no where near kind. They come across as stern and judgmental. I have been coming to this practice for 4 years now. I have witnessed the way they handle any questions I have had and it is unpleasant.
Good doc whilst u r paying him. Put me on strong, strong meds in 2016 but since then, my GP prescribed the same meds. After changing GPs, the new one didn't know what way to reduce the meds. I phoned to ask Artemi and he wouldn't offer any info for free. Not very helpful, at all. About $200 per 10 mins.
Dr Artemi is an awesome surgeon. Put my mind at ease regarding my skin graft and surgery and explained everything. An amazing job. I definately recommend Dr Artemi. The staff at SWSD are excellent and very professional.
