The food was ok, nothing special. We ordered bbq pork and garlic stir-fried chicken. We don’t like that we have to order the menu on web but the phone signal was bad there. The service is also just ok.
The last time I've been here was many years ago. This time it's either the flavour has changed or out palate has changed. The flavours are not as great as it was years back. Not sure if it is the new style of cooking or may be it is just fast food fast for convenience. I would not be back l in a hurry as there are other Thai places to try. Unfortunately some Thai places in Westfield were more flavoursome.
They don’t split bills. You had to ask them to come over to order and get the bill. We had to move from where they sat us to create a passageway. Very hot and no air conditioning. The food was very good and large servings. Altogether ok but better places near by.
Very disappointed last Saturday night. The food was somewhat tasteless. The service was rude. They wanted us to eat from side plates as they had run out of dinner plates. When I told them we would sit here until they gave us dinner plates and if the food was cold they could return it and cook us new food they soon found dinner plates They also left one of our guests with no food so when we had finished our dinner she had just received hers evidently missed her order which we had the staff member read back to us twice when we complaint nicely we were given the cold shoulder I think I’ll give them a miss for a little while
I have been coming to Doytao since early 2000s and it's never changed one bit. That is over 20 years of consistent quality. I cant eat Thai anywhere else, I have always come back to the favourite and now my kids love it as much as I do . 5 stars !!!
We ordered King Street Fried Rice and Pad See Eew, both at $16.9 each. The food tasted very salty and without "breath of the wok". One of the worst Thai food I have ever tried.
About average. The massaman curry was bland and with too much coconut cream. Fried whole fish was better but the spices were either very different or wrong.Food: 3/5
Went for lunch and it was affordable price as $9.9 for one plate. It tastes just ok, I know Better Thai place in Sydney. One thing made me disappointed is they don’t have noodle menu during lunch time. I wanted to have pattai but only rice dish was available on lunch menu. Card and Cash both payable. Thank you for attentive service.
First time visiting Newtown! We came across this lovely little Thai place. Great food!! Most authentic one I have tasted so far. Staff were all cheerful and were keen to chat. Great value for money and your tummy! Loved this place. Will definitely go back when we’re in NSW
Used to be regulars. Gave them a third chance but no more. Too many staff hired to care less. Food no longer of any competitive quality. Shrinkflation appears to be the owner's response to current economic pressures - from the food Garlic Prawns should be renamed Garlic Diced Fried Onions with Five Small Prawns to the absence of any electrical lighting - which aids somewhat in obscuring the dullness of the dishes. No shrinkage however of prices. Also had to ask for the loovers to be opened as staff appear blissfully unaware of the lack of air flow in the dining area. Take your money elsewhere - or learn to cook it yourself at home.
