I was just going to phone or email Dowson, but they might like this put here. A few months ago I went in looking for comfortable summer shoes for walking while on holiday- the sort you put on and find they feel like a second skin on you. I tried on a few and saw lovely red ones, but they didn't quite have the comfort I wanted. The young assistant brought out a pair of yellow shoes, priced at just $30. I was very hesitant but they fitted perfectly and felt good, and she insisted they were a fine colour for me. So I bought them, thinking for $30 it didn't matter too much if they gave up the ghost within days. But they got me round days in London on my feet most of the time up and down to the rube stations, walked round Cornwall and Devon beaches and streets, and are still going strong (though sadly the weather since we got back has meant yellow summer shoes have had to be substituted by strong black winter ones). Comfortable, pretty, cheap and good-wearing. I want another pair!

I would not choose to purchase a pair of Hi Tech walking shoes from Dowsons Shoe store which were priced at $149 and due to stretching of the leather upper around the heel are now virtually unwearable. As I purchased these shoes over 4 months ago I have no comeback or return option under terms and conditions of purchase. Unfortunately I never kept the receipt but might as well throw this pair of good quality Hi Tech shoes away. Even with new insoles they have stretched too much. If I could give 0 star rating for quality of shoes I would. Also is there other customers with a similar experience. PS I can copy and paste this
