The business commenced in 1977 and has established retailing operations in Launceston, Devonport and Burnie.

We are a service provider to the transport, mining and agricultural industries also servicing the broader retail market of passenger car, light van and 4wd vehicles.

Back in January 2018 I took my car to downing McCarthy tyres to have the wheels rotated balanced and one wheel replaced the day before heading back to Western Australia I wasnBack home in Tasmania visiting my grandmother before she passed away.nWhile returning to Western Australia with my brother and two 10 year old nephews we decided to pull into Adelaide and fill up the jerry cans for the border cross it’s lucky we did as we slowed down to the 60kph for the Adelaide hills the left rear wheel fell off if it would have happened at the 110 we was doing minutes before we most likely would have lost our lives.nnDowling McCarthy tyres helped get us back on the road through lube mobile so we could get home where I was asked to get quotes for the complete repairs to my vehicle they then put it to their insurance company QBE and that’s where the representative Aaron was not very helpful at all from January 2018 until June 2020 I have been in a hire car from right to drive fighting to have this resolved as fast as possible seeking help from dowling McCarthy tyres, ombudsman lawyers and finally politicians.nnThere wasn’t a single week where I hadn’t tried to get it resolved my boss even reprimanded me for being on the phone while working talking to lawyers and news channels, ombudsman trying to just get my car fixed and returned to me.nnI thank dowling McCarthy tyres for their early assistance and for their service to our family for years but they dusted their hands of the matter and left their insurance company QBE drag it out for so long

Went above and beyond to help get back on to the road with 2 new Tyers thank you for your assistance

Highly recommend this place, It was reccomended to me.nsaved 40$ compared to other places.nlistened to me and gave solid advice on what I want in a tyre which I highly appreciate.nntook their time doing it properly and didnt seemed rushed.nCar tracks straight as an arrow now.
