Leading Greek Restaurant in the heart of Sydney's CBD on Pitt St. Since 1952

Story

Welcome to Diethnes Sydney’s leading Greek Restaurant. Phillip and son John, our present co-owners opened the doors here over 50 years ago.

Their aim then, as now, was to serve quality cuisine of traditional Greek origin.

We invite you to sit back and relax. Select your favourite dishes from our varied menu or perhaps ask our waiters to recommend something completely new.

To compliment your meal, our extensive wine list contains several excellent Greek wines, plus, as the perfect finish don’t forget our array of tempting desserts!

Arguable the best Greek food you can buy in Sydney. Traditional greek food, lovely service and great relaxed atmosphere.
It’s in hidden location of the city. It looks like it has been traded for over decades. They really know how to cook the lamb. However seafood dishes may just be average. Highly recommend their roasted lamb and grilled lamb souvlaki.
There is no doubt that this place needs a renovation overdue by about 15 years but don’t let that deter you - the food is spectacular! Delicious and complimented with a great offering of wine. The octopus and galaktaboureko were particularly notable dishes and I’d come here again
Went on Valentine’s Day and we were not disappointed! They were nice enough to let us do the feast for 2 even though the minimum is supposed to be 4 people. Everything was super yummy but fair warning it’s a lot of food! We also tried the Greek wine and loved it.
A Sydney institution for good reason. 5 of us ate, aged 17 to 59 and every one agreed it was fantastic. Various favourites... Lamb roast, moussaka, cabbage rolls... Nothing left on any plates.
Great food,fast service,friendly and very reasonable priced.
Friendly and quiet environment, very excellent service. The Yemista is just like how I has in Santorini Vegetarian Moussaka is fabulous.
Consistently delicious food and still as good as it was 30 years ago and great value
