Our friends booked here on a recommendation so we were not really knowing what to expect.nReally nice old building with so much character.nThe service from the owner was very friendly and a bit cheeky at times but you just love that. Meals we generous and nicely cooked and reasonably priced.nReally got a surprise but I think it is worth dining there if you are in Stawell.
**The jewel of Stawell. Pun intended.nnThis place is lovely with its quaint decor & open fire.nThe service was superb, but I wouldn't expect anything less from a small family run business.nGreat selection of wines to choose from and the entree's, mains & desserts we all had were fantastic. No grumbles from any of the six of us.nWe will definitely be back again. Very nice indeed
We loved this restaurant! Don’t be put off by the quirky facade and homely interior- the building has an interesting history and the venue is a pleasant place to eat. The guy on service and I am sorry I can’t remember his name was welcoming and provided friendly and quite excellent service without being intrusive. The food scallops, duck spring rolls, chicken and amazing dusted kangaroo were perfectly cooked and all flavoursome. Generous servings too. The only negative was a few flies flying around the windows but nevertheless, we highly recommend it.
Didn't stay in this beautiful place, but we had dinner here actually still having dinner as I am writing this reviewnnThe gentleman is so nice and friendly, super quick and attentive, on top of that the food are so tasty and such a big portion for the price!nnBy the time he checked up on us, I've inhaled my kangaroo mainsnnLove the antique decor too.nSome music would be nice though!
I didn't eat at the restaurant, I stayed the night. The room is great, with excellent house keeping, very tidy and clean. Aircon is quiet and cools and heats rapidly. The beds are comfortable, shower has great pressure and easily adjusted temperature - no need to find that sweet spot.
