Nice spot. A bit noisy if you are on ground floor and people staying above. Bed was comfy and room was pretty clean. A/c worked well keeping the room cool. Restaurant is being renovated at the moment and no one knows when it will be up and running. This was a real let down, as the site goes on about a special chef etc and the menu looked good. Not many places around to eat, so plan your drive when going through Victoria and thinking of staying in Stawell. Not high on my list for recommending this place. It is cheap, and would be worth it maybe when the restaurant opens back up.
We stayed one night at the Diamond House Hotel with high hopes, drawn in by the charm and history of the main house, which really is remarkable. You can feel the character of the place the moment you arrive, and there’s definitely a story in every corner.nnUnfortunately, our experience was a bit mixed. The room itself was adequate, clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. The door didn’t lock properly, which left us feeling a little uneasy. We were also disappointed to find that the restaurant is permanently closed, as it had been one of the reasons we booked.nnCommunication was a bit tricky too, as the host didn’t speak any English, which made it hard to ask questions or get help when needed.nnIt’s a place with great potential and rich history, but it could definitely use a little extra care and attention to meet expectations.
A charming and cosy stay — full of character!nnWarm, charming, and perfectly located nI stayed one night at Diamond House Motor Inn and loved it. The place is cosy, with historic charm — wood and brick walls give the room a warm, vintage feel. Everything was clean, the heating worked great on a cold night, and the sheets smelled amazing!nnStaff were kind and helpful, and the location is super convenient — right near the main road between Melbourne and Adelaide. Highly recommended for a comfortable and character-filled stay.

Our friends booked here on a recommendation so we were not really knowing what to expect.nReally nice old building with so much character.nThe service from the owner was very friendly and a bit cheeky at times but you just love that. Meals we generous and nicely cooked and reasonably priced.nReally got a surprise but I think it is worth dining there if you are in Stawell.
