Park at SciTech for free, a very short walk to DOT. Friendly and helpful service as soon as you walk in. A very short wait time. I was in and out within 15 minutes. I was there having my license and photo renewed. Staff were friendly and personable.
DO NOT take your PDA test here! Assessor 2442 is arrogant, mumbles and has such a heavy accent I could not understand anything. As soon as I saw how miserable he was, I could tell I drew the short end of the stick. I went TWICE to get my licence here and failed for the most ridiculous reason- first time I was going 50 in a 60 zone and the second time apparently I didn't indicate when going around a parked vehicle- which I DID!!! The week after, I passed at another licensing centre so these people just want your money. It would help if their assessors were friendly and gave good feedback instead of being on a power trip.
Inconsistency and some poor driving assessors that are totally unfair on our kids trying to get their driver's license. For example, one assessor says the driver is not leaving enough time for manoeuvres, the next saying they are taking too much time. Make up your minds, which one is it!? I think some assessors are genuinely good but others seem hell bent on ensuring the assessor team are always fully employed by continuely failing students.
Excellent experience. Ample paid parking outside with a WC too. Organised ticket number system. Sudha was on hand to help with any initial questions. She was very knowledgeable and generous with her time. Hetal handled my application with efficiency, care and professionalism. Thank you to both of you- you made this an easy experience! Bravo.
It's a busy place and there is a ticketing machine and a waiting time. Once you're called, service is quick and easy. There are lots of fill-in forms around for the different needs and the free up-to-date Drive Safe manuals. The parking is expensive and it should be atleast in-line with SCGH QEII parking rates, including the free 15 min ticket.
Went for my PDA a week ago and was very organised. Was able to wait outside for my test as it was by appointment. There was plenty of parking, nearby public bathrooms and a small cafe. My tester was very nice as well, straightforward instructions and he easy to understand. From what i observed everything else inside was very organised as well. Still a long wait for most things but that’s expected for any location. :
Moved here for 2 weeks now we have a better understanding of BUREAUCRAT thanks to DOT. My partner needs to transfer his driver license to WA, West Perth office picked up a teeny tiny issue and declined. On the same day he went to Joondalup office with the same documents, application accepted with no questions asked. I need to transfer my car plate from interstate, Joondalup office declined bcz of an “unaccepted” document, again I went to Mirrabooka office same day with same papers they processed the transfer quickly. So here’s my advice: If you are declined, go to another office to try your luck. And pray for never have to deal with them again.
I’d like to forward my appreciation to those who wrote honest reviews about the disgusting service that comes out of this place, the unjustifiable parking fees, and lack of clear communication. Sounds just like Mirrabooka DOT. I’ll be going elsewhere. :
Improved friendly service The service at DOT has improved immensely from previous years. Last time I went in 5 years ago, the wait times were crazy and the service was below standard. This time, I was greeted and directed immediately. Then I was served within 5 minutes and my issue resolved promptly and with great service. Great to see
Was transferring to a WA HC license, my main focus was the 10 compulsory questions. I was only waiting approximately 15 minutes. Teller on number 2 Donna & the dark haired assistant were fantastic and very informative & the patience & courtesy they both displayed due to me not being familiar with the procedures. I passed 10/10 with everything sorted. "Thank you"
