Arrived 25 minutes before opening there was already 10-15 people in front of us. Once doors opened it was very quick, a lady gave us a ticket then we sat down and waited for an other 20 minutes. Many desks were opened. The lady at our desk was so quick, efficient & helpful. She transferred my overseas drivers license in a few minutes, took my photo then we were out! Would really recommend getting there early as during the day the wait time would probably be longer.
The trial to open on Saturdays from 7am-2pm for September to Oct 2024 is an amazing idea. It was quick and the staff were friendly and so kind to resolve my issue on the same day! I got what I needed instead of waiting for another week. Please consider doing this permanently. It would be great if you could consider allowing PDA test to be taken on Saturday too.
it took me 1.5 to wait, PLUS it took around 1hour for the staff to complete my transaction. I am only transferring my international license to WA. By the way, this is the third time been here for the transfer. They won’t tell you what you need to do in advance. I called the department before I can and they told me it’s all good to proceed. But not. Such efficiency how to serve ourncommunity?
Was wondering if I would face the same fate as those who had negative experiences here based on reviews. Arrived just before opening and joined the queue, wife and I managed to get seats despite the place being quite full. Was surprised to see virtually all counters open, was expecting half the counters to be unmanned. Had to wait about an hour for our number to be called for our vehicle transfer application. If driving, be prepared to pay for at least 2 hours parking @ $4/hr. I guess having read the reviews helped prepare me mentally for what to expect, my 4 stars is based on most counters being open and getting a seat whilst we waited to called.
It's fine. Clean, plenty of seats that are in good nick. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. It's a government office: you will have to wait. Probably at least an hour.nnDon't arrive late in the afternoon expecting to get seen they won't serve you after 4:30, no matter how long you've waited or how important you think you are.nnParking is the typical rort at $4/hour, but it's right next to City West station so you can always catch the train in.
