Locals for over 20 years between us, we loved being on this cruise. Sometimes you just need to see a Darwin sunset from the water to remind you we live in a truly stunning place. The food was delicious and plentiful, the staff were professional and friendly and thanks to the sunset gods for turning on a spectacular sunset for us. Would recommend to locals and visitors alike.
Stunning night on Darwin Harbour Cruises. Service was exceptional, food delicious & great selection of beverages. The perfect way to showcase Darwin to interstate guests. The small clips of commentary were the perfect addition to give some additional insight into the Top End’s history. Highly recommend to both locals and visitors to Darwin.
What a wonderfull experience!!! The staff was incredibly kind, the food was amazing too! With my boyfriend we took the cruise during the night for Valentine’s Day and we had a really great night. It included dessert, the cheesecake was sooo tasty. Good job everyone!!!
I recently had the pleasure of taking a cruise with Darwin Harbour Cruises, and it was an experience I won't soon forget. From start to finish, everything about the experience was top-notch. First and foremost, the seafood platter was absolutely amazing. It was clearly made with the freshest ingredients, and every item was cooked to perfection. The variety of seafood on offer was impressive, and it was all so delicious that I couldn't pick a favorite. The service provided by the staff was also exceptional. They were friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. It was clear that they take pride in their work and genuinely care about their customers' experience. The cruise itself was a delight as well. The boat was comfortable and well-maintained, and the views of Darwin Harbour were simply breathtaking. The knowledgeable guides provided interesting commentary throughout the cruise, giving us a deeper understanding of the area's history and wildlife. Overall, I highly recommend Darwin Harbour Cruises to anyone visiting Darwin. Whether you're a seafood lover, a nature enthusiast, or just looking for a unique and enjoyable way to experience the beauty of Darwin Harbour, this cruise is sure to deliver. The combination of great seafood, excellent service, and stunning views make it an experience not to be missed.
Absolutely magic…. We did the grazing platter which was ample for the two of us. Cocktail was yummy…! Service was attentive, prompt and friendly. Informative commentary on Darwin history added a nice touch but didn’t take away from the peaceful, scenic focus of the sunset. Highly recommend
We had a really great night and food was delicious. Must've had about 3 dozen oysters and a hundred prawns. Yum! They accommodated our group of 13 with ease and we had a great spot on the front deck. Unless it was raining, or windy, I wouldn't sit anywhere else - perfect spot for a few beers and delicious food. Thanks guys!
The concept of this cruise is "Enticing", however, our expectations were far from met. Admittedly our tour was booked via Imagine Tours, not by ourselves, so we were unaware of options for inside outside seating & what that meant regarding food choices. On arrival you all just stand on the dock, the gate opens, you file on, nothing orderly about it. Then when you enter, you are advised that you will be seated inside, taken to the table. Ours was by windows, with stack of outdoor chairs & a timber wooden partition, plus dirty windows all around. After asking the stack of chairs was halved. We were unaware of steps down to toilets, my sister had mobility issues-but managed. The commentary was just a drone of annoyance & some relaxing background music would have been appreciated. The commentator was like a parrot repeating what he had said a thousand times. No ebb or flow & hard to hear. We all just checked out & struggled to talk over him. The staff did not keep the buffet plates stocked swiftly enough. The commentator picked & chose which table went when. The food was say 7/10. One of the bowls on our table had clearly not been cleaned properly. Bar service seemed reasonable after the initial rush. The asian staff member stood out positively. The table cloths were clean, the tables beneath chipboard with lifting laminex. Large cracks in toilet floor. However, the concept & possibilities to have a wonderful evening were there but lost in amongst the other. I think it would be time enough for the commentator to drone on, after the sunset. It was like lets get through all the good stuff in the first 1/2 hour. After the sunsets - it is just dark - apart from the beautiful Ferris Wheel lights. Orderly loading, like front deck/1st level etc. could help. By the time we got back to dock, we all just wanted off. If we had been seated in a half decent place, with windows we could see through, be welcomed that bit was OK, then chill with the sunset and wine, I reckon a lot of the rest would not have even been a noticed.
We had a lovely night on the water. They gave us a good table at the bow of the boat. The staff were very attentive, cleaning tables when you were finished. The toilets were a problem for me because i am disabled, as you had to go down a flight of stairs and there was no disabled bars,so I had trouble in toilets. The food was alright.I think it is better to go on a night cruise when it is NT night as you see all the fireworks. Once the beautiful sunset had gone done, there wasn't anything to see..
Harbour dinner cruise on the Charles Darwin was faultless. We booked the buffet dinner which was inside the boat and there was a wide range of food with seafood, hot food and salads. All the food was exceptional. I advised them when booking that my wife was lactose intolerant and as soon as we boarded the vessel the staff were already prepared to ensure that she would have oil with the bread and not butter and came across and told her which foods had got dairy products in. There were also hot and cold desserts. Good range of drinks to purchase. The service was very attentive. We cruised into the harbour area. Saw the sunset and could go out on the deck, outside. This was undoubtably one of the highlights of our trip to Darwin and I have no hesitation in recommending it. We used the hop on hop off bus to get to the wharf for 5.30 and we used the shuttle bus back at about 8.30 to get to the lift and walkway but it is walkable in about 30 minutes from the CBD.
We did the ‘Gaze and graze’ option and for what we paid, it was very disappointing. For $121 each we got a below average platter that was full of very cheap tasting/looking food. It honestly looked and tasted like the cheapest possible option for each item was used eg a cheap block of tasty cheese cut up, a jar of plain green olives that had zero flavour, chunks of rolled up ham that you get out of a packet etc. It felt like they were going for quantity over quality and it just made the food really unenjoyable when we knew how much we had paid. We then got a tiny tub of icecream to finish that my lactose friend wasn’t able to even eat and they had no other options. The whole experience was so disappointing, maybe the other experiences offered would be better, but I would not recommend the ‘Gaze and Graze’ option to anyone.
