Staff need to raise their level of personability by at least 0.0001 percent to be anywhere near some sort of acceptable human conduct. I was treated like a homeless person. Hate to think how an actual homeless person would be treated.
Over the age of 30 and unfortunately left my ID at home. The security lady was really aggressive and got in my personal space. Accepted they couldn’t let me in without ID but the way the security conducted herself was aggressive. Unfortunately won’t be back.
There’s another review written by the person named Isaac about the New Zealand woman with the tattoo on her face. And this review is about that woman too + the Indian security guy in glasses.nnMe and my friend walked into the store on the 13th Feb Friday night at around 7pm. We were asked our IDs and I produced my drivers licence and the guy said thanks so it seemed all good. But the issue was my Japanese friend had a Japanese licence with clear date of birth and security guy looked a bit confused. He then took this ID to the New Zealand woman at the checkout as if a student getting confirmation from a teacher and asked her if this ID was okay. The New Zealand woman then rudely told me and my Japanese friend that this ID card is not in ENGLISH so we cannot ACCEPT IT!nnThe next move by the security guard and the lady was very very rude. The security guard said I need to walk out my friend outside the store and come back in to buy drinks because they want to get rid of some “suspicions“ as they called it that we are not buying the drink for the minors. So I walked my friend outside the store and came back in. Then this security guy got into my face and lectured me whether I understood the procedure and why he asked me to walk out my friend. I mean, give me a break, I understood it so that’s why I did so. So I said yeah I understand. Then the New Zealand woman suddenly told me that she won’t serve me. So I just walked out the store with nothing.nnAs Isaac on another review mentioned, that New Zealand woman should never be allowed to work in the customer service role. If you do not like the job, get another job, mate. Like other few reviews about the woman, I also felt like we were racially targeted and being harassed. In case you did not know, it’s a felony to racially discriminate someone under the Discrimination Act in Australia. I am also going to take this to the higher ups of Dan Murphy if the store does not take any actions about them.
AVOID THIS STORE - STAFF ARE HORRIBLEnnShocked by the DISGUSTING staff, the “woman” with the tattoos on her face is an absolute embarrassment to the company and a disgusting aggressive person. Get better staff seriously! What the actual hell is wrong with the employees at this place.. what a joke, probably the worst Dan Murphy’s on the Gold Coast.nnI attended the store tonight 13/02/26 at around 8pm or slightly later to buy a bottle of wine.nnMy phone wouldn’t load digital ID because of the poor reception in the building, so I stood in front of the security and the team member who was on the counter closest to the door she was a New Zealand woman with tattoos on her face and I restarted my phone and the ID eventually loaded and I showed the security my ID I don’t know why I was being asked in the first place I’m a 32 year old man and clearly look over the age of 25 but okay.. the woman on the counter wasn’t serving anyone and could clearly see that I showed my ID to the security who let me into the store.nI picked up my chosen bottle of wine and went to the counter to make my purchase.nThe woman proceed to ask for my ID again which I replied “I need to show ID again?” She in a hostile way replied that because she was serving me alcohol she had to ask to see my ID and I showed her my ID for second time without hesitation and which she again replied in a hostile way that she didn’t know what she was as looking at..because my screen was showing just my birthday I then scrolled on my phone in front of her showing her my full digital ID which clearly stated that I was 32 years old and my photo, I gave her my membership number which she put in the system and then I paid for my bottle of wine as I was paying I said to the staff member that I would be lodging a complaint against her since she was so rude, as soon as I said that and she snatched my wine away and said she wouldn’t give it to me. I said I want a refund and she in her words said “thats too bad” but I refused to accept that she steals my money and pushed back and she eventually gave my money back to me in cash.nnThis a completely unacceptable way to treat a paying regular customer and she should not be working in a customer facing role if she cannot control herself due to customer feedback to her rude and hostile behaviour why is she working in a customer facing role? This is disgusting behaviour and should not be allowed. Please find better staff, this is unacceptable and disgusting service.nnI will be pursuing this further until I have an apology from her and from management.
Awesome customer service, very knowledgeable and charismatic staff, and the best selection of drinks I've ever seen! I spent nearly an hour in store because I was spoilt for choice!
