I walked in to Dan Murphy store in Berwick at about 6:50pm today. As usual for a black customer I got this tall, stern gentleman to escort me and show me around. The first thing he said to me was “there is the aisle for cheap wines!”nAs I walked to pay for my purchase which was not ‘cheap’ btw he stood firmly at the door and ignored the other customers in the shop. He was FOCUSED on me, hoping I’d validate his stereotype in one way or another.nWhat a poor experience, and the first if it’s kind in a Dan Murphy’s store for me!
Dropped in to pick up some birthday drinks for my partner, every staff member was super friendly and helpful.
Do yourself a favor and jump on the app, they got mad deals!nnThe staff at this store were friendly, funny and their service was exemplary. I will drive past 3 other stores just to come back to this one.
