Don’t normally like to write negative reviews but unfortunately this warrants one.nnVisited here for Breakfast shortly after 9:15am. There was a table outside in the sun, so we decided to grab that. There were dirty plates from previous customer but thought it would get cleared quickly. Hmm maybe not.nnOrdered 2 breakfasts bacon and scrambled eggs and breakfast tacos with 2 large coffees.nnWe went inside to order and that itself took about 10 mins waiting in the queue. Should have taken that as a first red flag.nGirl taking orders looked like she was doing everything - orders, making coffee and serving.nnafter about 25 mins the coffees came. Still had the dirty plates on table we had to ask to get them removed . 2nd red flag!nnAfter over 40 mins the food arrived! We got an apology for the wait and was told there was only 1 person in the kitchen - Both dishes were really cold!nnI asked for mine to be warmed through. Another 10 mins until it came back. Poached eggs on top were hard boiled- food was warmer though.nThe breakfast tacos were nice - full of flavour and were tasty apart from said hard poached eggsnThe scrambled eggs were awful. Watery and not much egg. Bacon was cold. Buy this time my partner was very much over the whole experience. So we just ate!nnWe paid $65 for this meal. They charged us a 15% surcharge. Now I understand small country places need to survive and if the service and food was good we would look past! Maybe a suggestion- use the 15% on hiring extra staff or someone else in the kitchen.nnAnd while you’re at it - get a soft close on the front door. every time someone entered and exited the cafe it slammed. Just to add to our experience !
If you are looking for a sweet treat this place hit the spot!! I had an amazing banofee pie, it was so decadent and delicious!! Kudos to whoever baked this it was sensational!!! From the fluffy sweet meringue on top to the banana filling, caramel and shortcrust pastry. Yum, yum, yum !!!!
The BEST takeaway coffee I’ve ever had!nnI’ve been meaning to post a review for a few weeks, but just couldn’t find the words. We passed through Maryborough on the way to watch our son play soccer, and were desperate for a GOOD coffee. Not much is open on a Sunday morning in Maryborough, and thank GOODNESS! Otherwise, we would have never been lucky enough to experience the incredible service, atmosphere and hands down, the BEST takeaway coffee I have EVER had and I’m really picky when it comes to my coffee!!!. The ladies were so lovely despite it been really early on a Sunday morning and chatted to my son about soccer. They made us feel really welcome, and the cafe itself was a VIBE!!! While we don’t go out of our way to go to Maryborough… I’m certainly looking for a reason ASAP!!
We were a group of five and ordered three big breakfasts, one of them vegetarian. The vegetarian meal was supposed to have a fried egg, but it came with a poached egg instead, and the beans were cold. We also ordered an almond milk latte, but received a full cream latte instead. One of our friends ordered a sandwich, and it was served cold.nnAdditionally, there was an issue at another table where the order wasn't put through. The staff at the front need to pay more attention, especially when taking specific requests like almond milk, as some customers may have allergies. A bit more care could really improve the overall experience.
I stopped in this cafe to get a cappacino, excellent customer service friendly staff, the cappacino was beautiful brewed perfectly
